RobCo said on October 5, 2026, that its valuation had surpassed $1 billion after a transaction that brought the company new investment and gave long-standing employees an opportunity to sell some shares. SiliconANGLE reported the transaction at $40 million and said most of the shares were sold by employees. That reported figure is the transaction size—not evidence that RobCo raised $40 million in new company funding.
What the October transaction means
The company described the event as its valuation doubling in nine months. The announcement confirms both new investment and employee liquidity, but does not state the transaction’s size. The $40 million figure comes from SiliconANGLE’s October 5 report, which characterized most of the shares as employee-sold.
Those parts have different financial effects. Money paid for newly issued shares can go to the company; money paid for existing employee shares goes to the selling holders. The available accounts do not quantify how much of this transaction was primary investment versus secondary share sales, so the full reported $40 million should not be described as new capital raised by RobCo.
What is known—and not known—about the valuation
RobCo’s announcement says the valuation exceeded $1 billion. This is a company-reported private-company valuation threshold, not a public-market capitalization. The announcement does not provide a valuation methodology or transaction terms that would allow readers to independently assess how the figure was calculated.

The company also said its valuation had doubled over nine months. That comparison is RobCo’s characterization; the cited announcement does not provide the underlying valuation figures or details needed to independently verify the calculation.
How this differs from a conventional funding round
| Question | What the sources establish |
|---|---|
| What valuation was announced? | RobCo said its valuation surpassed $1 billion in its October 5, 2026 announcement. |
| What was the transaction size? | SiliconANGLE reported $40 million. RobCo’s cited announcement did not disclose a deal size. |
| How much was new company capital? | Not stated in the cited sources. RobCo said the transaction brought new investment, but the amount is not disclosed. |
| How much went to employees selling shares? | Not stated. SiliconANGLE reported that most shares were sold by employees, without a precise split. |
Accordingly, “RobCo raised $40 million” overstates what the cited accounts establish. The more precise description is that RobCo announced a valuation above $1 billion and a transaction involving new investment and employee liquidity; SiliconANGLE reported its size as $40 million.
