How to browse phone files on Googlebook
- Pair the Android phone with Googlebook. The report describes a paired-phone feature but does not provide verified setup steps or the names of setup screens.
- Open Files on Googlebook.
- Select the phone in the Files app’s left sidebar. Browse the reported Downloads, Documents, or Camera folders.
- Move a supported file. The report says drag-and-drop works for files under 200 MB. It does not document other transfer methods or supported file types.
File size and Android requirements
According to Android Authority’s account of the reviewer guide, Quick Access transfers are for files under 200 MB. For larger files, the report says Google recommends Quick Share. It also says the phone must run Android 17 for the reported cross-device functionality. Quick Access is different from moving files during laptop setup
Google describes a separate setup-migration flow for switching to Googlebook: sign in on the previous laptop, upload files to Google Drive, then finish setup with a phone. Google Play Books is a separate ebook workflow
If the goal is to add an ebook to a library rather than transfer a phone file to a laptop, Google Play Books supports uploading PDF and EPUB documents. Its upload instructions describe adding documents to the Play Books library, including Android steps involving PDF upload settings and the Files app or an email attachment. This does not establish that Quick Access transfers purchased ebooks or bypasses export restrictions.

Google’s separate Google Books information describes book downloads according to public-domain status or rights-holder permission. That service is distinct from both Googlebook laptop file transfer and Play Books library uploads.
