Leaks point to a possible four-phone Pixel 12 lineup and a Pixel 12 Pro Fold with a reported 2296 × 2404 inner display. Separate reporting says Google is exploring a dual-layer ultra-thin-glass design that may reduce a foldable screen’s visible crease. None of this is confirmed for a retail Pixel: the model names, specifications, technology and launch timing remain unannounced.
What the Pixel 12 leak claims
TechRepublic reported on October 5, 2026, that entries in GSMA IMEI records identified by OVR Plus correspond to four possible Pixel 12-series devices. The records are clues, not a Google product announcement, and do not guarantee that every device will reach stores under the listed name. The report gives these model mappings and alleged display resolutions:
| Possible device | Reported model number | Reported display resolution |
|---|---|---|
| Pixel 12 | GC0QU | 1080 × 2400 |
| Pixel 12 Pro | GWU59 | 1280 × 2824 |
| Pixel 12 Pro XL | G7U1Y | 1344 × 2952 |
| Pixel 12 Pro Fold | G4D5D | 2296 × 2404, reported for the inner display |
These figures are attributed to TechRepublic’s report of the GSMA/OVR Plus entries; they are not confirmed Google specifications. The Fold figure describes resolution, not physical screen dimensions, so it does not establish how large the inner display would be. TechRepublic reporter Liz Ticong cautioned that “database appearances do not guarantee that every model will reach retail under those names.”
Could the Pixel 12 Pro Fold have a less visible crease?
Possibly, but that remains a development report rather than a confirmed feature. On September 2, 9to5Google, citing The Elec, reported that Google, Oppo and Vivo were working with Samsung Display on dual-UTG foldable displays. The reported structure places one ultra-thin glass (UTG) layer above the display and a second beneath it to support the OLED panel.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
The reporting does not establish that Google will put this design in a shipping Pixel 12 Pro Fold, nor does it quantify any reduction in crease visibility. It would therefore be premature to call the screen crease-free or treat the reported construction as a final product specification.
When might Google announce its next foldable?
9to5Google said Oppo and Vivo were expected to release devices using the reported display approach in the first half of 2027, and placed Google’s next foldable in the second half of that year, possibly around August based on Google’s usual schedule. This is an attributed expectation, not a date announced by Google; the Pixel 12 Pro Fold’s release timing is unconfirmed.

What Google has officially announced
Google introduced the Pixel 11 Pro Fold on August 12, 2026. Its official product announcement describes an IP68 rating, a gearless hinge, and inner and outer displays. Google also makes durability and battery-life claims; those are manufacturer claims, not independent test results. This is the current official comparison point in the available materials, but it does not verify any Pixel 12 leak.
Google’s Pixel 11 Pro Fold announcement and Pixel hardware specifications page cover announced devices. The reported Pixel 12 models and specifications have not been officially established by those materials.

Should you buy the Pixel 11 Pro Fold or wait?
The leak is not enough to make a sound generation-to-generation recommendation. It offers one reported comparison point—the Pixel 12 Pro Fold’s 2296 × 2404 inner-display resolution—while leaving important buying details unknown. Physical display sizes, crease visibility in a finished device, hinge construction, cameras, battery, charging, price and availability for the Pixel 12 Pro Fold have not been established in the reporting cited here.
If you need a foldable now, evaluate the officially announced Pixel 11 Pro Fold on its own merits rather than treating the leak as a promise of a better successor. If you can wait, the useful point for comparison will be a Google announcement with confirmed specifications and regional availability.
