Apple says iPhone Duo preorders open Friday, October 16, 2026, at 5 a.m. Pacific Time. To make an informed choice, prepare your preferred configuration and payment details, then compare the live delivery and pickup estimates at checkout. Apple has not published delivery estimates by configuration, so ordering at a particular time or through a particular channel cannot be said to guarantee an earlier arrival.
When iPhone Duo preorders open
Apple’s schedule sets the preorder opening for October 16, 2026, at 5 a.m. Pacific Time in more than 70 countries and regions. Availability begins October 23 in those markets. Apple says 28 additional countries and regions will begin availability on October 30. Check the Apple announcement and your local Apple Store page for the schedule and terms that apply where you live; market coverage and local terms can vary.
Apple lists a starting price of $1,999 on its iPhone Duo product page. That is a starting price, not a confirmed price for every configuration or market.
How to prepare and place an order
- Check your market. Open Apple’s local iPhone Duo page and confirm whether your country or region is in the October 16 preorder group or the later October 30 availability group.
- Choose your preferences in advance. Decide on color, storage, payment method, and whether you want to trade in a device. Apple’s published schedule does not establish inventory or delivery dates for individual configurations before orders open.
- Go to an official sales channel when preorders begin. Apple identifies Apple.com, select carriers, and partner stores as sales channels. The announcement does not name every participating seller. Use the seller’s own site or app, navigating there independently rather than relying on an unsolicited link.
- Check the estimate shown for your exact choice. Compare the delivery estimate and any available pickup appointment for the configuration and location you selected. Estimates can differ by configuration, location, and seller; use the live checkout information rather than predictions or anecdotes.
- Review the full terms before paying. Compare the total cost, trade-in conditions, financing terms, return policy, and whether a carrier offer requires a plan or ties the phone to that carrier.
How to compare delivery and pickup options
There is no confirmed fastest channel or configuration in Apple’s published material. Once checkout is available, compare the actual options presented for your location rather than assuming Apple, a carrier, or another partner will deliver sooner.

- Delivery: Note the estimated date for the exact configuration, seller, and shipping address.
- Pickup: Check whether a pickup option is available and how far away the listed store is.
- Cost and conditions: Weigh any trade-in or financing offer against its eligibility rules, required plan, and total cost.
- Seller terms: Confirm return conditions and whether the phone is locked or otherwise tied to a plan.
A queue, preorder app, or switch to another retailer should not be treated as a way to secure earlier delivery unless that seller publishes a rule that says so.
What is—and is not—known about delivery delays
The phrase “before delivery dates slip by weeks” describes a concern, not a confirmed forecast. Apple’s cited announcement and product page give preorder and availability dates but do not publish configuration-level delivery estimates, demand figures, queue rules, or a delay forecast. They do not establish that dates will slip by weeks, that one configuration will sell out first, or that a particular ordering method will be faster. The live checkout estimate is the relevant information once preorders open.

Watch for purported early preorder offers
Apple’s announced preorder start is October 16. A September 30, 2026, Tom’s Guide report warned about scams using iPhone Duo preorder claims before official orders open. Treat claims that you can order early with caution: go directly to Apple’s official page or independently navigate to a named seller’s own site, and do not enter your Apple ID or payment details through an unexpected preorder link.

Apple announced an iPhone Duo Case and a separate iPhone Duo Folio with Kickstand, both available to order October 16. Apple lists U.S. prices of $79 for the Case and $129 for the Folio with Kickstand in its announcement. These are optional accessories, not preorder requirements, and Apple’s published information does not establish that buying one affects delivery timing.
