The HMD Slate Tab 5G is reportedly in development with a 10.6-inch, 2000 × 1200 display and 90Hz refresh rate, but HMD has not confirmed the tablet in the sources reviewed as of October 7, 2026. Its specifications, price, release date and availability should therefore be treated as unconfirmed leak reports—not a finalized product announcement.
What the HMD Slate Tab 5G is reported to offer
Reports published by Gizmochina on October 6, 2026, and IT Home on October 5, 2026, describe a 10.6-inch IPS LCD with a 2000 × 1200 resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. IT Home also reports Gorilla Glass 3. The two reports are broadly consistent, but both describe leaked information; agreement between them does not amount to official confirmation. The leaked specifications also point to a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor, 8GB of RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage. Those details may help describe the device HMD is reportedly preparing, but they do not establish real-world performance or how much storage will be available to users.
Here are the reported specifications, with their status kept clear:

What the display figures mean—and what they do not
A 2000 × 1200 panel is often described as “2K” in product coverage, but the resolution figures are more precise than that shorthand. The reported 90Hz refresh rate would allow the screen to refresh more often than a conventional 60Hz panel, though the leak alone does not establish how well the tablet handles motion or whether every app and use case would benefit.
Neither report supplies hands-on display measurements, brightness figures, color coverage or viewing-angle results. The listed resolution and refresh rate are reported specifications, not independent display test results.

Battery, cameras and connections
The reported 9,250mAh battery and 30W wired charging are capacity and charging claims only. The reported cameras are 8MP on the front and 13MP on the rear. Megapixel counts alone do not establish image quality, video capabilities or camera features.

Will the HMD Slate Tab 5G support a keyboard?
POGO contacts are reported, and those contacts make keyboard or other accessory support plausible. However, no compatible keyboard or accessory has been confirmed or named in the cited reports. Treat keyboard compatibility as unknown until HMD identifies an accessory and confirms support.

What to verify before considering a purchase
Once HMD makes an official announcement, the details most likely to affect a buying decision are the final specifications, price, release date and sales regions. Buyers considering a cellular model should also check supported 5G bands, while anyone planning to use accessories should look for a specifically confirmed compatible keyboard. HMD’s announcement should also clarify software-support commitments and whether a charger is included.
