Dust, residue, lighting, case color transfer, case discoloration, wear, or a finish issue could look different in photos. The available reports do not determine which, if any, explains the images. Individual Reddit posts offer anecdotes but not verification: one describes dust and discoloration around camera rings, while another alleges color transfer onto a clear case and drew conflicting explanations. Has Apple acknowledged the reports or offered a fix?

If you want a case for ordinary protection, choose one made for the exact model—iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are distinct sizes—and weigh camera-area coverage, MagSafe support, grip, bulk, and whether it hides the Burgundy finish.
