NEXTPredict co-founder and managing director Pierre Lindh says prediction-market stories could interest far more people than the specialist iGaming trade press typically reached, yet lacked serious journalism for general readers. His phrase “nobody was serving it with real journalistic standards” describes a perceived gap in coverage—not a measured audience count, and not an absence of prediction-market platforms or users.

What did Pierre Lindh mean by “nobody was serving” prediction markets?

In an August 27, 2026 interview, Lindh contrasted specialist iGaming coverage, aimed at a relatively narrow professional readership, with prediction-market stories he believed could be consequential and interesting to ordinary readers. He said: “That audience is enormous compared to ours, and nobody was serving it with real journalistic standards.” The comparison was between potential readers of prediction-market stories and the audience for the trade coverage he knew. “Enormous” was his characterization, not a published census or independently measured estimate. His point was about reporting: he saw room for journalism that explained prediction markets to people beyond industry insiders. It should not be read as a claim that the sector had no exchanges, users, or existing coverage. Nor does the evidence establish how many people want that reporting.

What is NEXTPredict?

NEXTPredict describes itself as a dedicated media and conference brand for the prediction-markets industry. It says its work includes a news portal, a professional summit, and original research and data analysis. The brand is produced by the team behind NEXT.io, an iGaming media and events business. The company says it approaches prediction markets through a financial lens and aims to provide independent journalism and a place for industry stakeholders to meet. That is NEXTPredict’s stated editorial positioning, rather than an external assessment of its independence or of how the entire sector should be classified.

Who is the company trying to reach?

NEXTPredict’s stated professional audience includes platform operators, institutional traders and market makers, investors and venture-capital firms, regulators and policymakers, legal and compliance professionals, infrastructure builders, and media. This industry-facing audience is distinct from the broader public readership Lindh believes may be interested in prediction-market news.

Why did the team launch it?

Lindh said the team saw two developments: the iGaming industry was looking toward emerging products such as prediction markets, and accessible, serious reporting about those markets was missing. As an early demand test, the team published a 55-page report that Lindh said received around 1,500 downloads. That figure is his account in the interview; it is not independently audited and does not establish ongoing readership.

The team launched NEXTPredict in April 2026 and built a summit around the brand, according to Lindh’s interview. He also described a convening need: “The industry was being formed and the people forming it had never sat in a room together”. He said the event had to serve two purposes at once: “The story that gets us on air is not the story our delegates are paying to be in the room for, and both have to be true at the same time.” The first speaks to bringing industry participants together; the second to balancing public-facing news with a professional event agenda.

Do prediction-market activity figures prove the audience is enormous?

No. Platform transactions, active addresses, survey estimates, and media readership describe different things. They cannot be combined into a defensible count of people who might read general-interest coverage.

NEXTPredict says the industry grew from $500 million in 2022 to $63.5 billion by the end of 2025. The company’s characterization of industry growth on its About page. About 283,300 monthly active users, down from a spring peak above 750,000. Token Terminal figures reported by Decrypt on October 5, 2026; Decrypt describes the metric as unique addresses making a revenue-generating transaction. It measures activity under that definition, not the number of people interested in journalism. Decrypt’s October 5 report
Kalshi reported 3 million new users and more than $1.2 billion traded on a 2026 World Cup winner contract. Company-reported platform activity, as reported by Decrypt on October 5, 2026; match-day volumes exceeded non-match-day volumes. It is not a count of readers or unique potential customers across the prediction-market category. Decrypt’s October 5 report
22% to 27% projected share of crypto traders using prediction markets. A Langston Co. projection reported secondhand by Decrypt on October 5, 2026. It is not a direct audience census. Decrypt’s October 5 report
$13.76 billion in Polymarket trades; 3% of accounts took roughly 27% of dollar profits. A working paper’s dataset, as summarized by Decrypt on October 5, 2026. It describes trading and profit concentration in that dataset, not market-wide audience size. Decrypt’s October 5 report
Around 1,500 downloads of a 55-page report. Lindh’s account of an early demand test in his August 27, 2026 interview. It is not an audited circulation figure or proof of continuing readership. PredictCentr’s interview with Lindh

These figures provide context on market activity and one early report’s downloads, but none directly measures the broader audience for prediction-market journalism. The cited coverage does not establish a single defensible total for that audience.

What is planned for NEXTPredict NYC?

NEXT.io announced NEXTPredict NYC for October 22–23, 2026, at Hudson Yards in New York, with an expected 2,500 delegates. Its announcement describes a planned gathering of operators, investors, founders, regulators, and media leaders. Decrypt reported on October 5 that working journalists from CNBC and CNN had been added to the program alongside exchange and industry participants. As of October 7, 2026, the event is upcoming, so the attendance figure and program are plans, not completed outcomes. NEXT.io’s event announcement and Decrypt’s October 5 report

The announced agenda covers market structure, regulation, capital, products, and industry relationships. The event falls shortly before the US midterm elections. Lindh told PredictCentr that the election could attract media attention, while saying the bulk of the agenda focused on market structure. PredictCentr’s interview with Lindh
