In a Form 8-K filed October 5, Strive said it acquired 2,000 BTC from September 28 through October 2, 2026, at an average cost of approximately $84,422 per bitcoin, inclusive of fees and expenses. The filing’s transaction period ended three days before the filing date. Strive’s Form 8-K
Strive reported 27,462 BTC on September 25 and 29,462 BTC on October 2, a net increase of 2,000 BTC across those reported balances. The filing also gives a separate September 30 snapshot of 28,000 BTC; that is an interim balance, not a replacement for the October 2 total.

Subtracting the reported totals gives a difference of 6,115 BTC. Because the figures have different as-of dates, that arithmetic does not establish the companies’ relative holdings on the same day. The MARA figure also should not be read as 35,577 unrestricted BTC: its filing identifies the loaned and pledged amounts within its digital asset management strategy. The sources cited here do not establish a later MARA balance, so the June 30 figure is the latest available comparison in this report.
How the purchases fit into Strive’s treasury
Strive reported $284.7 million in cash and cash equivalents as of October 2, 2026. Separately, it said it acquired 8,137 BTC at an average cost of $78,885 during the third quarter of 2026. The Block described the 2,000 BTC transaction as Strive’s largest purchase since June, comparing it with a 2,500 BTC purchase that month. On funding, The Block attributed to CEO Matt Cole the statements that sales of SATA preferred shares represented 61.5% of capital raised and warrant exercises generated $56.7 million. These are management-attributed funding details reported by the outlet; they should not be mistaken for a breakdown independently established by the transaction disclosure. Strive’s SEC filing excerpt separately shows changes in SATA shares outstanding and traditional warrants.

How to interpret Strive’s reported performance metrics
Strive’s filing also lists a company-defined 63.2% year-to-date BTC yield and a 55.3% amplification ratio. These are Strive’s own metrics, not standardized market measures or independently validated performance figures.
