An October 5, 2026 report said nine of the ride’s ten cars were in assembly and the remaining car was complete and on site. Putting the trains on track and testing are still ahead.
What the Bakunawa construction update says
Amusement Today reported on October 5, 2026, that assembly was underway for all ten Bakunawa cars: nine were being assembled, while the tenth was already complete and on site. The report describes each car as a ride chassis topped with a fully assembled seat gondola.
Six Flags Great Adventure ride mechanics and ride electricians are handling the assembly. The report estimates that assembling each car takes approximately one week. That is a per-car estimate, not a published completion date for the full trains.
How many trains will Bakunawa have?
The planned configuration is two five-car trains, one green and one purple. Six Flags’ official Bakunawa page lists two trains with capacity for 20 passengers each.

- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
What happens after train assembly?
The reported sequence is assembly, putting the trains on the track, then testing. The October 5 update identifies only assembly as underway; it does not say that train installation or testing has started.

Train assembly is a meaningful construction step, but it is not the same as completed installation, successful testing, or an open ride. The dated report establishes that assembly was in progress and identifies the next steps; the park’s 2027 opening year remains a plan.
