The reported 41% discount applies to the 2TB Samsung 9100 PRO SSD—not every capacity. TechRadar reported an Amazon price of $399.99, down from $679.97, in a deal article last updated October 5, 2026. That is a $279.98 reduction based on the listed prices. Check Amazon’s live listing for the current price and availability; the other capacities were described as discounted, but their prices were not reported.
What the reported 41% deal covers
The October 5, 2026 TechRadar report put the 2TB Samsung 9100 PRO at $399.99 on Amazon, compared with a stated reference price of $679.97. The difference is $279.98, or about 41% using those prices. This is a dated report of a retailer offer, not confirmation of today’s price, stock, or offer terms.
TechRadar also said 1TB, 4TB, and 8TB versions were discounted, but did not state their individual sale prices. The 41% figure should therefore be read as applying to the reported 2TB offer only. Compare any other capacity using its current listing price and price per terabyte rather than assuming the same percentage reduction.
Which capacities are available?
Samsung’s product release and datasheet list 1TB, 2TB, 4TB, and 8TB versions of the 9100 PRO. The family uses an M.2 2280 form factor and PCIe 5.0 x4 / NVMe 2.0 interface. Samsung’s reported peak performance figures differ slightly by capacity:

These are Samsung’s manufacturer maximums and rated endurance figures, not independent benchmark results. The datasheet says performance can vary with firmware, system hardware, and configuration. Will the 9100 PRO reach its advertised speed in your PC?
To reach the drive’s PCIe 5.0 interface ceiling, the host must support PCIe 5.0 x4 and have a compatible M.2 slot and system configuration. Samsung says the SSD is backward compatible with PCIe 4.0 x4 and PCIe 3.0 x4, but those interfaces have lower throughput ceilings, so the drive will not reach its advertised PCIe 5.0 maximums in them. Check your motherboard or device documentation for the slot’s supported interface and lane configuration before buying.

Check clearance before choosing the heatsink version
If you are considering the heatsink model, verify the space available in the PC, console, or other host device. Samsung’s heatsink datasheet gives a maximum height of 8.88 mm for the 1TB–4TB versions and 11.25 mm for the 8TB version, and advises checking host-device clearance. The heatsink and non-heatsink versions also differ in how they fit a system’s existing cooling arrangement. Consult the heatsink datasheet and your device specifications before selecting a variant.

How to judge whether the offer is worthwhile
- Confirm the exact model and capacity. The dated $399.99 report is for the 2TB Amazon offer; it does not establish current prices for other sizes.
- Compare current cost per terabyte. Divide the live price by usable capacity, then weigh that figure against how much storage your workload needs.
- Match the drive to the host. A PCIe 5.0-capable M.2 slot is needed for the interface’s top speeds; older compatible slots run at lower interface throughput.
- Check fit and cooling. Verify the chosen version’s dimensions and whether your system has the required space and cooling arrangement.
- Consider endurance in context. Samsung’s TBW rating is capacity-specific and is not a guarantee of a particular service life; review the warranty terms alongside your expected write workload.
