These are suggestions from a secondary guide, not confirmed fixes from NCSoft, and none is guaranteed to resolve every launch problem.
Try the fix that matches the launch problem
Sportskeeda’s October 5, 2026 guide describes a launch problem after preload and suggests the following steps. It does not identify an error code or establish one cause for the issue.
If the Play button is missing after preload
- Exit Steam completely, including from the system tray.
- Reopen Steam and check AION 2 in your Library. The guide says restarting the client may let an unpacking step begin.
If the installed game refuses to launch
- Open your Steam Library.
- Right-click AION 2 and select Properties.
- Open Installed Files.
- Select Verify integrity of game files and let Steam complete the check.
The guide says verification may redownload missing or corrupt files. That is the guide’s description of the check, not a guarantee that file corruption is the cause.
If neither step helps
The same guide recommends checking for a graphics-driver update through the GPU manufacturer’s website or a relevant manufacturer app. This is a general troubleshooting suggestion; the available information does not show that an outdated driver causes every AION 2 launch failure.

Check whether your PC meets Steam’s requirements
Steam’s AION 2 listing identifies the game as PC-only and publishes these Windows system requirements. Treat them as a compatibility check, not as a diagnosis or a promise that meeting the recommended configuration will fix a launch problem.

These specifications come from Steam’s store listing. A PC below a listed requirement may have a compatibility issue, but the requirements alone do not establish why a particular copy of the game will not start.

What these fixes do—and do not—establish
The three steps are low-complexity checks for different situations: restarting Steam when the Play button is unavailable after preload, verifying files when an installed game will not start, and checking the graphics driver. Sportskeeda is a secondary source, and no official NCSoft troubleshooting notice confirming a fix for this exact issue was located in the available sources. That does not establish that no such notice exists.
The available sources do not establish a reliable cause ranking or success rate. They also do not substantiate reinstalling AION 2, changing security settings, buying a GPU or SSD, or using a third-party optimizer as remedies for this specific launch problem. Steam’s SSD recommendation is a system specification, not evidence that purchasing an SSD will fix the error.
