The 2026 Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid pairs standard all-wheel drive with Toyota-estimated fuel economy of 42 mpg combined and 196 net combined horsepower. It comes in S, SE, and XSE grades; Toyota’s current U.S. product page lists starting MSRPs from $29,795 to $33,830. For everyday usefulness, Toyota also lists 60/40 split-folding rear seats and practical accessories, though cargo volume and real-world performance are not established by the available specifications.
What the 2026 Corolla Cross Hybrid offers
The Hybrid is a distinct version of the Corolla Cross, not simply a gas model with an efficiency label. Toyota describes a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, three electric motors, and standard Electronic On-Demand AWD. Its published output is 196 net combined horsepower, and Toyota estimates 42 mpg combined for Hybrid grades with AWD. Those are manufacturer figures, not independent test results. Toyota’s 2026 model announcement gives the powertrain details and performance positioning.
Toyota’s current 2026 product page displays estimated fuel economy of 46 mpg city, 39 mpg highway, and 42 mpg combined. It also states an 8-second 0–60 mph acceleration figure; treat that as Toyota’s claim rather than a verified road-test result. Actual fuel economy and acceleration can vary with driving conditions and vehicle use. Toyota’s Corolla Cross page shows the current displayed estimates.
Hybrid grades, prices, and equipment
Toyota offers the 2026 Corolla Cross Hybrid in S, SE, and XSE. All three have standard Electronic On-Demand AWD. The following are base MSRPs shown on Toyota’s current U.S. product page; they are not dealer transaction prices or out-the-door totals, and prices may change.

| Grade | Displayed base MSRP | Notable distinctions stated by Toyota |
|---|---|---|
| Hybrid S | $29,795 | Entry grade; Toyota lists a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster as grade-dependent, so check the specific grade’s equipment. |
| Hybrid SE | $31,115 | Mid-grade option; available features and equipment should be confirmed against the build and dealer listing. |
| Hybrid XSE | $33,830 | Top Hybrid grade; Toyota identifies grade-dependent display equipment and selected-grade styling details. |
Toyota’s announcements describe a 10.5-inch multimedia touchscreen as available and a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster as grade-dependent. Cavalry Blue is offered on selected grades. The available material does not establish a complete equipment-by-grade matrix, so confirm the exact screen, color, and other features on the vehicle being considered. The MSRP shown when Toyota announced the model in September 2025 was a $28,995 Hybrid starting price; Toyota’s current page instead displays grade-specific base prices, which are the more useful current reference.
What changed for 2026
Toyota says the Hybrid receives a new color-matched grille and that the 2026 lineup gets a redesigned front console intended to increase usable storage and improve access to controls. These are manufacturer-described changes; the specifications do not provide an independent assessment of cabin usability or comfort.

Everyday practicality and accessories
Toyota lists 60/40 split-folding rear seats across the grades, giving owners the option to fold part or all of the rear seat for longer items. Toyota’s materials do not establish independent cargo-volume measurements or a hands-on assessment of how much luggage fits.
Listed accessories include all-weather floor mats, roof-rack crossbars, an activity mount, and a tow hitch. Toyota’s announcement associates the hitch with a towing capacity of up to 1,500 pounds. Before towing, confirm that the specific vehicle configuration is approved for the intended load and consult its current owner documentation. Check model-year and Hybrid fitment for any accessory before ordering.

How the Hybrid differs from the gas Corolla Cross
The clearest distinction established by Toyota’s figures is drivetrain availability: every Corolla Cross Hybrid grade has standard AWD, while the gas Corolla Cross is offered in FWD and AWD configurations. Toyota estimates the Hybrid at 46 city, 39 highway, and 42 combined mpg on its current product page. The provided Toyota material does not establish a like-for-like independent fuel-economy comparison with the gas model, so those numbers should not be treated as a tested head-to-head result.
Which transmission does the Hybrid use?
Toyota specifies an electronically controlled continuously variable transmission (ECVT) for the Corolla Cross Hybrid. That is the Hybrid’s transmission description; do not assume it is interchangeable with how Toyota describes the transmission in the gas Corolla Cross. Toyota’s specifications do not establish a reliability conclusion based on the transmission type.

Safety equipment and what the specifications do not tell you
Toyota identifies Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 and the STAR Safety System as standard across the Hybrid grades in its model-year announcement. The fact that these suites are included does not establish a particular independent crash-test result, nor does it quantify how individual safety features perform in every situation.
