The company’s February announcement said it was expanding its fleet and team. Waymo reported that it provided more than 400,000 rides per week across six U.S. metropolitan areas as of February 2026, after more than tripling 2025 ride volume to 15 million rides and exceeding 20 million lifetime rides. Those are company-reported figures, not independently audited measures in the cited announcement.
Waymo also said it planned to begin operations in more than 20 additional cities during 2026, including Tokyo and London. These were plans, not confirmation that launches had taken place. Separately, the Associated Press reported on February 24, 2026, that Waymo had begun dispatching robotaxis in Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, and Orlando, bringing its U.S. deployment footprint to ten metropolitan markets.
