Clockwork.io announced a $31 million funding round on October 5, 2026, to expand software that monitors AI clusters and helps workloads recover from hardware and network failures. The company says the investment brings its total funding to $73 million. The round was co-led by Premji Invest, Wing Venture Capital and Seligman Ventures, with NEA and e& Capital participating.
What does Clockwork.io do?
Clockwork sells infrastructure software for AI clusters, not consumer GPU hardware. It describes its platform as a software layer between the underlying infrastructure and AI workloads, combining cluster observability with fault tolerance. Its stated aim is to help operators identify problems and keep useful computation moving when a GPU, node or network component fails.
The problem is especially acute in distributed AI jobs: GPUs coordinate work across nodes, so a fault in one part of the system can stall otherwise healthy hardware or force work to be recovered or recomputed. Clockwork’s product descriptions address different parts of that failure path:
- FleetLens is described by Clockwork as finding slow or failing jobs and tracing the issue to a GPU, node, network link, switch or network interface card (NIC).
- LinkPass is designed to reroute traffic around failed network links.
- TorchPass is intended to move work away from failing GPUs and capture state so a workload can recover.
These are descriptions from Clockwork’s product materials, not independently verified product tests.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
How does Clockwork aim to keep training and inference running?
The company’s October announcement adds two recovery capabilities. Multi-node platform snapshots are intended to capture the state of a distributed job across nodes without requiring changes to training code. Fast asynchronous application checkpoints are meant to limit the amount of progress lost when a job is interrupted.
Clockwork also highlights reinforcement learning, where training and inference replicas may exchange updated model weights. The company says TorchPass and LinkPass can help keep that process operating through GPU or network disruptions. The announcement does not provide comparative benchmarks or enough detail to establish how these mechanisms perform against alternative recovery systems.

- Sleek 7-in-1 USB-C Hub: Features an HDMI port, two USB-A 3.0 ports, and a USB-C data port, each providing 5Gbps transfer speeds. It also includes a USB-C PD input port for charging up to 100W and dual SD and TF card slots, all in a compact design.
- Flawless 4K@60Hz Video with HDMI: Delivers exceptional clarity and smoothness with its 4K@60Hz HDMI port, making it ideal for high-definition presentations and entertainment. (Note: Only the HDMI port supports video projection; the USB-C port is for data transfer only.)
- Double Up on Efficiency: The two USB-A 3.0 ports and a USB-C port support a fast 5Gbps data rate, significantly boosting your transfer speeds and improving productivity.
- Fast and Reliable 85W Charging: Offers high-capacity, speedy charging for laptops up to 85W, so you spend less time tethered to an outlet and more time being productive.

- LinkedIn: Clockwork says LinkPass is deployed across LinkedIn’s AI infrastructure fleet and prevents tens of thousands of GPU-hours of downtime per month. This is a customer outcome reported in Clockwork’s announcement, not an independently audited measurement. LinkedIn infrastructure executive Raghu Hiremagalur said: “At AI infrastructure scale, a single network issue should never sideline healthy GPUs or interrupt running workloads.”
- Together AI: Clockwork says Together AI is bringing TorchPass to market as a service on its GPU clusters. Together AI product lead Pavneet Ahluwalia described the operational goal this way: “Our customers grade us on goodput, the share of their GPU-hours that actually move the model forward,”
- WhiteFiber: Clockwork calls WhiteFiber an existing customer that is expanding use of its software to audit and validate clusters before they enter production.
The company’s release also summarizes a Meta example of roughly one unexpected interruption every three hours during a 54-day Llama 3 training run on 16,384 GPUs. That figure is presented by Clockwork as an illustration of the reliability challenge; it is not a Clockwork test result.
What the announcement does—and does not—establish
The funding and customer details come principally from Clockwork’s company-issued announcement, distributed by PR Newswire. SiliconANGLE also reported the round and customer context. The available information establishes the announced financing and the company’s stated product and deployment claims; it does not provide independent performance testing, audited funding records, contract terms or a basis to rank Clockwork against competitors.

Clockwork’s About Us page also claims FleetIQ improves utilization and job completion times by 1.1–1.5x and reduces disruptive failures by more than 90%. Those are company claims, and the reviewed page does not state a publication date or underlying test methodology, so they should not be treated as independently established results.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Why this funding matters
As AI workloads spread across large GPU clusters, infrastructure failures can waste more than the capacity of the failed component: synchronized jobs may lose time across many healthy GPUs as well. Clockwork is using the new capital to expand a software approach that combines detecting the fault with rerouting traffic or recovering work. The announcement signals customer interest in that reliability problem, but it does not yet offer independent evidence that Clockwork’s approach outperforms other options.
