Which is better depends on whether you prioritize screen and charging specs, portability, or a specific market’s current price.

Which phone has the better display?
The Redmi lists a 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED panel, compared with the A57’s 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED+ display. Both manufacturers list a 120Hz refresh rate. On the published size and resolution figures, Xiaomi offers more screen area and a higher resolution; those specifications alone do not establish which screen looks better in person. Brightness claims should also be compared only when their measurement methods match.
Battery capacity and charging: Xiaomi leads on listed numbers
Xiaomi lists a 10,000mAh battery and 100W HyperCharge for the Redmi. Samsung lists 5,000mAh for the A57 and says charging can reach 60% in around 30 minutes. These are manufacturer specifications and claims, not a like-for-like battery-life or charging-speed test. Capacity and peak charging wattage do not establish screen-on time or the full charging curve.

Size, weight and portability
Samsung lists the A57 at 179g and 161.5 × 76.8 × 6.9 mm. Xiaomi’s India specification page lists the Redmi at 229g and 163.44 × 78.27 × 8.57–8.65 mm. That regional listing makes the Redmi 50g heavier, as well as taller, wider and thicker. Xiaomi notes that measurements can vary, so check the precise model sold in your market if weight or pocketability matters.
Cameras: what the published specifications establish
Samsung lists a 50MP main camera, 12MP ultrawide, 5MP macro and 12MP front camera. The cited Xiaomi global product page does not establish a comparable camera specification set, and no matched camera test is available here. The megapixel figures therefore do not support a reliable verdict about which phone takes better photos or video.

Software support: a clearer commitment from Samsung
Samsung specifies up to six generations of Android and One UI upgrades and up to six years of security updates for the A57. Xiaomi’s global page describes a “6-year like-new software experience,” but that wording should not be treated as an identical promise of six Android upgrades or six years of security updates. Check Xiaomi’s terms for the exact market and model before treating the policies as equivalent.
Water resistance and durability
Samsung states an IP68 rating for the A57. Xiaomi lists IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings for the Redmi and describes test conditions on its product page. These ratings are not a guarantee against damage from every liquid, exposure or accident. Xiaomi’s page limits its underwater camera mode to static freshwater up to 2m for 30 minutes and recommends a professional waterproof case; that mode is not a general promise that the phone is safe for underwater use.

Price difference: compare local prices, not mismatched launch figures
Samsung announced a U.S. starting price of $549.99 for the A57, with U.S. availability beginning April 9, 2026. That is a launch starting price, not a current global street price. The evidence here does not establish a corresponding Redmi price in the same country and for the same RAM and storage configuration, so it cannot establish a genuine price difference.
For a useful comparison, check both phones in the same country on the same date and match their memory and storage tiers. Include the retailer and any discount in your comparison; do not convert Samsung’s U.S. launch price into a claim about another market’s current pricing.

Which one should you choose?
- Choose the Redmi on listed specifications if your priorities are a larger, higher-resolution display, higher listed battery capacity and 100W charging, and you are comfortable with the heavier body.
- Choose the Galaxy A57 on listed specifications if lower weight, a thinner body and Samsung’s explicitly stated Android/One UI and security-update terms matter more to you.
- Compare locally before deciding on value if price is the deciding factor. A valid verdict needs same-market, same-configuration prices rather than Samsung’s U.S. launch figure against an unspecified Xiaomi price.
