Get the appropriate license, speak to the certification proctor, select the unit and class, then take the exam. The game displays a pass chance; build the relevant skills before spending a license, because guide-reported instructions say an attempt uses it whether the unit passes or fails. After certification, that unit can switch freely among its earned classes.
Where to take a class exam
Go to the Temple district in Dagsion and look for the license vendor and certification proctor. A September 2026 walkthrough places both in Hightown; another guide also locates the class system in Dagsion’s Temple district. At the proctor, choose the unit you want to certify and then the desired class. The exam is how a unit earns a class; selecting an unearned class is not itself an unlock.

How to unlock a class
- Check the class requirements. At the proctor, select the class and read the displayed requirements and pass chance before committing. The walkthrough reports that the interface shows a chance from 0% to 100%, relevant skill ranks, and an ideal level. Treat the ideal level as a readiness guide, not a guaranteed pass threshold, unless the game explicitly marks it as a requirement.
- Meet progression gates and obtain the license. The ordinary process uses a tier-specific license. Renown and story progress can open tiers, while particular classes may also require a quest, route, temple condition, or special item. Confirm the specific class’s in-game requirement screen rather than assuming Renown alone unlocks it.
- Train the relevant skills. Improve the weapon or magic skills listed for the class. Guide coverage says relevant ranks affect the displayed chance. Dagsion also has weapon-training facilities, according to a review of the game.
- Take the certification exam. When the displayed chance is acceptable, use the license and attempt the exam. Guide-reported rules say the license is consumed on a pass or a failure. If the unit fails, improve its skills or level and try again with another license.
- Switch to the certified class. Once the unit has passed, it can use that class and switch among its already certified classes without another fee.
Tier progression and reported ideal levels
The following tier progression and ideal levels are reported by secondary guides, not an official class database. Exact availability can vary by class, and the in-game requirements display is the best source for a particular unit.

Class-specific unlocks may need more than Renown
Renown and chapter progression can make a tier available without unlocking every class within it. Pocket Tactics lists class-specific quest routes for examples including Dancer, Blacksmith, Ranger, Dragoon, Caladrius, and Troubadour. Available guide accounts conflict on some route details, so use those names as examples of classes that may have extra conditions—not as a complete or definitive route list. The class requirement screen at the proctor should determine what your unit needs next.

How to change a unit’s class after certification
Guide-reported options for reclassing include speaking to the proctor, using the Base Menu during Free Time, or choosing a class in Battle Preparation. The walkthrough says reclassing is not available on the world map or inside dungeons. A unit can only switch to classes it has already certified in, and switching among those earned classes is reported to be free.
