What the “100 NDAs” remark means
In T3’s interview, IO Interactive art director Rasmus Poulsen recalled that the prerequisite for learning about the Valhalla was “certainly 100 NDAs” or so. The qualification matters: it is an informal estimate in an interview, not a documented tally of agreements. The paperwork reflected the need to keep Aston Martin’s then-unannounced car confidential while the game’s team worked with it.
T3 published the report on 5 October 2026, on James Bond Day. Its account is based on interviews with IO Interactive staff; it is not independently corroborated by another source.
Why IO Interactive wanted the Valhalla
T3 says the studio decided early to include two Aston Martins: a vintage DBS and the newest, most powerful car Aston Martin would make available to the team. The game’s DBS appearances are distinct: T3 describes a 2006 DBS used for Bond’s training and a 1970 DBS in a chase in Slovakia. The Valhalla became the contemporary hypercar at the center of the later driving-focused TacSim mission.

How the team balanced Bond fantasy with Aston Martin’s identity
The design challenge was not simply to add weapons. The car needed to feel exciting as a Bond vehicle while remaining credible as an Aston Martin. Poulsen described the conversations as a question of “credibility and bridging that gap between over-the-top excitement and cool restraint.”
T3 reports that IO Interactive proposed weapons emerging from beneath the Valhalla’s exterior panels. Game director for missions Dominic Vega said the team wanted to “do the brand justice” and that the moment was built around what Aston Martin’s team came up with. Poulsen said Aston Martin was receptive to the resulting direction.

Machine guns came before missiles
According to T3, machine guns were the first weapon idea. Playtesting prompted the team to reconsider what would make the sequence more enjoyable. Vega recalled someone suggesting that Q’s assistant announce “missiles unlocked” over the intercom. The team revisited its concepts and added missiles after that playtest idea.

T3 describes the Valhalla Protocol as a new TacSim mission added in a post-launch update for 007 First Light. The mission centers on driving the Aston Martin Valhalla through four missions in the Slovakian mountains, with sections set by day and by night. T3 also reports that the update includes New Game Plus and other new TacSim content.
