To connect Beats to Bluetooth, turn on Bluetooth on your phone, computer, or other host; put your specific Beats model in discovery mode; then select it from the host’s Bluetooth device list. The button or procedure varies by model, so identify your Beats product before following the pairing steps.
Connect Beats to an iPhone or iPad
- Open Settings > Bluetooth and turn Bluetooth on.
- Prepare your Beats: open the case with the earbuds inside, turn on Beats Flex, or turn on your headphones or speaker.
- Hold the Beats near your iPhone or iPad. If a setup animation appears, follow its instructions.
- If no animation appears, put your model in discovery mode and tap its name in the Bluetooth device list.
Apple recommends using the latest iOS or iPadOS. A Wi-Fi or mobile-data connection during pairing may be needed to access Find My features. Apple’s Pair Beats guide has current model-specific steps.
Connect Beats to an Android phone
- Turn on Bluetooth in Settings > Connections.
- Put your Beats model in discovery mode and hold it near the phone.
- If a Fast Pair prompt appears for your supported Beats, follow it. Otherwise, select the Beats in Android’s Bluetooth settings, or use the Beats app’s Connect Your Beats flow.
The Beats app can also help manage Beats on Android. Fast Pair availability depends on the supported product and host; manual pairing is the alternative. See Apple’s pairing instructions.
Connect Beats to a Mac
- Open Apple menu > System Settings > Bluetooth and turn Bluetooth on.
- Put the Beats in discovery mode. For earbuds covered by Apple’s instructions, open the case and hold the system button until the light flashes white. For Beats Flex, use the power button on the right control module.
- Choose your Beats in the device list and click Connect.
Controls differ among models; use the section below or Apple’s current guide for your exact product.

Connect Beats to a Windows PC or another Bluetooth device
Turn on Bluetooth on the host, put the Beats in discovery mode, and follow that device’s Bluetooth pairing instructions. Select the Beats when they appear in its device list. Windows PCs are one example of a Bluetooth-enabled host; the exact menus can vary by operating system and version.
Put your Beats model in discovery mode
Discovery mode makes your Beats visible to a nearby host so it can pair. Apple lists different controls for different products; a flashing light or the specified repeating tone indicates readiness for the models below.

If your Beats won’t connect
Work through these checks in order. Reset only after the simpler fixes; reset instructions are specific to the model.

- INCREDIBLE SOUND: Custom acoustic platform delivers rich, balanced audio for music, calls and everyday listening.
- LOSSLESS AUDIO SUPPORT: USB-C lossless audio and sound profiles optimize music quality across devices and environments. Additional option to use the 3.5 mm cable for a standard analog experience.
- ACTIVE NOISE CANCELLING (ANC): block distractions at work, on flights or during your daily commute. Or use Transparency mode to let the sounds of your environment mix in with your music.
- SEAMLESS WIRELESS CONNECTIVITY: One-touch pairing with Apple & Android for easy switching across devices.
- SPATIAL AUDIO IMMERSION: Personalized dynamic head tracking, 360-degree sound for movies, music and immersive everyday listening.
- Move the devices closer. Keep the Beats and host within 30 feet. Move them away from other Bluetooth devices, microwaves, wireless routers, and other electronics. This is Apple’s troubleshooting recommendation, not a guaranteed maximum connection range. See Apple’s connection troubleshooting guide.
- Check power. Confirm both the Beats and host are charged and turned on.
- Choose the correct audio device. Select Beats as the sound output. If you need the microphone, also check the input or recording-device setting. On a PC, check its sound settings; on Apple devices, check Bluetooth or Sound settings as appropriate.
- Remove the old pairing and try again. Disconnect or forget the Beats in the host’s Bluetooth settings, then put the Beats back in discovery mode and pair again. Apple provides forgetting steps for iOS and Mac in its troubleshooting guide.
- Reset the Beats if pairing still fails. Find the reset procedure for your exact model in Apple’s support instructions, then try pairing again. Do not assume all Beats reset the same way.
Can Beats connect automatically to your other devices?
After setup, Beats may pair automatically with other Apple devices signed in to the same Apple Account, or Android devices signed in to the same Google Account. This account-based behavior does not establish identical continuity between Apple and Android devices. Details are in Apple’s Pair Beats guide.
