Choose Pulsetto if you want a hands-free neckband with app-guided sessions; choose Hoolest VeRelief Prime if you prefer a handheld device that works without an app. That is a difference in routine, not proof that one works better. The available device-specific evidence is early, and the sources reviewed do not establish a clinical winner for anxiety, sleep, stress, or other conditions.

How Hoolest and Pulsetto differ

What matters Pulsetto Hoolest VeRelief Prime
Form and use Neckband for hands-free use; Wareable describes bilateral placement. Handheld device used on one area at a time; Wareable says it requires manual placement and holding.
App App-guided programs. Pulsetto says five programs are free; premium-app trial is optional. Wareable describes VeRelief Prime as app-free. Confirm requirements for the model you buy.
Conductive contact Requires conductive gel. Wareable describes replaceable gel tips.
Price reference Wareable listed Pulsetto Lite at $278 in its June 4, 2026 comparison; this is a dated review price, not a universal current price. Wareable listed VeRelief Prime at $159.20 in the same comparison. Hoolest’s homepage displayed $159 when accessed; prices and promotions can change.

These descriptions combine a product comparison with manufacturer information; check the live listing for the exact model, package contents, regional price, and included consumables. For Pulsetto’s current model and bundle details, see the Pulsetto FIT product page. Hoolest’s homepage lists VeRelief Prime.

Which device fits your routine?

Choose Pulsetto for hands-free, app-guided sessions

Pulsetto may suit you if wearing a neckband and following programs in an app is more convenient than holding and repositioning a device. The gel is part of the routine, so check whether the package includes enough for your intended use and what replacement supplies cost.

Choose VeRelief Prime for a handheld, app-free workflow

VeRelief Prime may suit you if you would rather operate a handheld device without an app. You will need to position and hold it, and account for replaceable gel tips. Wareable reviewers found that placement and holding it less convenient; that is their experience, not a guarantee of how it will feel for every user.

Does Pulsetto work better than Hoolest for anxiety or sleep?

No direct head-to-head clinical trial establishing that Pulsetto is more effective than VeRelief Prime was identified in the sources reviewed. Neither device should be presented as a proven treatment for anxiety, insomnia, panic symptoms, or another medical condition.

A Pulsetto-hosted summary describes an open-label, parallel-group study that recruited 40 healthy adults; 37 completed four weeks of unilateral or bilateral Pulsetto stimulation. The summary reports a decrease in hair cortisol across the full sample (p = 0.013), along with changes in self-reported depression, anxiety, and sleep measures. These are results reported by the company for an early study—not proof of clinical benefit or evidence that Pulsetto outperforms Hoolest. The summary itself says larger studies are needed to confirm findings and clarify mechanisms. Read the Pulsetto study summary.

For the purchase decision, treat efficacy as unresolved and choose based on fit, setup, and ongoing supplies—not a promise of symptom relief.

What should you know about safety?

Read the current instructions for the exact device before use. Pulsetto’s support and safety information lists active implanted electronic devices and metal devices near the neck as contraindications. It also cautions against simultaneous use with another stimulation device or portable electronic device. The manufacturer says safety and efficacy have not been evaluated for a range of users and histories, including children, pregnancy, certain cardiovascular conditions and arrhythmias, fainting, seizures, and abnormal cervical anatomy. Ask a qualified clinician before use if your health history or an implant raises questions.

Do not transfer safety claims between stimulation sites or products. Hoolest’s safety page says its discussion concerns auricular (ear) vagus nerve stimulation and does not apply to cervical stimulation. VeRelief Prime should not be treated as an ear-electrode device simply because that page discusses ear stimulation; follow the VeRelief manual for its placement and precautions.

The FDA MAUDE database contains a voluntary patient report describing palpitations, fatigue, and ventricular arrhythmias after Pulsetto use, classified as a serious injury. The report records the reporter’s account and does not establish that Pulsetto caused the event, nor does one report show how frequently an event occurs. See the FDA MAUDE report.

Do not confuse VeRelief Prime with Hoolest Pro

Hoolest Pro is a separate headphone product, not another name for VeRelief Prime. Features or efficacy claims on the Hoolest Pro product page do not establish features or results for VeRelief Prime. The page’s wellness-device disclaimer applies to Hoolest Pro specifically.
