Its biggest compromise is the 6.88-inch screen: it refreshes at 120Hz, but its HD+ resolution looks soft on a panel this large. This verdict applies to the Indian 5G model, not the separate global POCO M7 4G.
First, which POCO M7 is this review about?
The name covers two different regional phones in the available official specifications and reviews. The India-market POCO M7 5G has a Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor and a 5,160mAh battery. Xiaomi’s global product page and UAE specification page describe a different POCO M7 4G, with a Snapdragon 685 and 7,000mAh battery. Their screens also differ, so specifications and review impressions for one should not be applied to the other.

Reviewers found everyday use smooth or satisfactory, and The Indian Express reported more than a full day of use in its testing.

It is a less convincing choice if you watch a lot of high-resolution video, expect crisp text and fine detail on a large display, often take photos in dim light, or want a compact phone. The 720p panel is the clearest compromise, while the large body may also be cumbersome. Whether it is a good buy today depends on the current local price and competing phones; the available launch prices are historical, not a present-day value comparison.

How good is the screen?
The India model has a 6.88-inch HD+ display at 720 × 1,640 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, according to Gadgets 360’s launch report. The high refresh rate can make supported scrolling and interface animations look smoother, but it does not add detail to images or text. The Indian Express reviewer specifically found the resolution pixelated at this screen size.
So, no: the India POCO M7 5G screen is not Full HD. Do not confuse it with the global-market POCO M7 4G in Xiaomi UAE’s specifications, which has a 6.9-inch FHD+ (2,340 × 1,080) display and a refresh rate of up to 144Hz.
What are performance and cameras like?
Everyday use
The Snapdragon 4 Gen 2-equipped India model is aimed at basic daily workloads rather than demanding gaming. The Indian Express described performance as decent, while Business Standard characterized it as modest but good for everyday operation. These are reviewers’ impressions, not results from independent testing for this article. The Indian Express also reported no lag during its limited casual-game testing, which should not be read as a guarantee for intensive games.

Reviewers found the 50MP main camera more useful in daylight than in low light. Business Standard noted weaker low-light results, and The Indian Express also described the camera as limited. Megapixel count alone does not establish image quality; if night shots are important, consider sample photos from the exact model before buying.
How long does the battery last, and how fast does it charge?
The India POCO M7 5G has a 5,160mAh battery. The Indian Express reported more than a full day in its use, while Business Standard said it could last up to a day with light-to-moderate use. Those are review observations, not a standardized battery-life guarantee; your results will depend on signal strength, screen use, apps, and other settings.

The phone supports wired charging up to 18W, although reviewers reported that a 33W adapter is included in the India box. The adapter’s rating does not change the phone’s stated 18W charging support. Check the contents for the exact regional SKU when purchasing.
POCO’s separate global product page advertises a 7,000mAh battery and 33W turbo charging for its global-market product, and says its adapter is not included. POCO also says its internal-lab testing found the battery retained at least 80% of original capacity after 1,600 charge cycles; that is a manufacturer test claim, actual results may vary, and it is not an independent result or a specification for the India 5G phone.

Check the latest regional support information before treating any update policy as current.
The Indian Express reports a 3.5mm headphone jack, dedicated microSD slot, and IP52 rating. These are useful details for buyers who want wired headphones, expandable storage, or basic splash protection. IP52 is not a claim of waterproofing. The same review noted a mono speaker, while Business Standard described the phone as large and its glossy back as prone to fingerprints.
What should you compare before buying?
Compare current local offers for the same RAM and storage tier, and weigh the features that matter to your use rather than judging by refresh rate or megapixels alone. Reviews mention the Redmi A4 5G, Redmi 14C 5G, and Moto G35 as alternatives, but the available sources do not establish comparable current prices or test results, so they cannot support a reliable ranking.

Gadgets 360 reported launch-day India prices on March 3, 2025, of ₹9,999 for the 6GB/128GB configuration and ₹10,999 for an 8GB configuration. These were introductory first-day prices, not current price guidance. The report also said the phone was available through Amazon India and other sellers at launch; current stock and pricing have not been established here.
