Firefox is free to download and install on Windows 10. Get it from Mozilla’s official download page and run the installer, or install it through the Microsoft Store. Mozilla says Firefox Release will continue supporting Windows 10 for the foreseeable future, although Windows 10 itself no longer receives standard Microsoft support.
Where to download Firefox for Windows 10
Use Mozilla’s official Firefox installation guide to reach the download, or choose Firefox in the Microsoft Store. Both are supported ways to install it on Windows 10. The standard Mozilla installer automatically offers the best available version for your computer, so most users do not need to choose a build manually.
Install Firefox from Mozilla’s website
- Open Mozilla’s Firefox download page in a browser already installed on your PC, such as Microsoft Edge.
- Select Get Firefox or Download Firefox.
- Open the downloaded installer and follow the on-screen steps to finish installation.
Windows may show a warning that the app is not from the Microsoft Store. If you would rather install through Microsoft’s app marketplace, use the Store option instead.
Install Firefox from the Microsoft Store
Search for Firefox in the Microsoft Store on Windows 10 and select the install option on its listing. Store-installed Firefox receives updates through the Store. Availability and app-installation details can vary by region and account context.

Choose a language or specific build
If you need a particular language or operating-system build rather than the automatic choice, use Mozilla’s alternate download page to select the Firefox version, operating system, and language. Check Mozilla’s live download page for the current choices.
Firefox support and Windows 10 security
Mozilla says Firefox Release will continue to support Windows 10 for the foreseeable future and has not announced an end date. Windows 10 users can stay on Firefox Release; Mozilla says they do not need to switch to ESR. In its October 16, 2025 blog post, Mozilla wrote: “While this marks the end of support from Microsoft, Firefox will continue to support Windows 10 for the foreseeable future.”

That Firefox support does not restore security updates for Windows itself. Microsoft ended standard Windows 10 support on October 14, 2025. Mozilla recommends moving to Windows 11 if the PC supports it, or considering Microsoft’s Extended Security Updates if you remain on Windows 10.
