Apple has announced and released the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, but it has not announced the standard iPhone 18. The Pro models became available September 18, 2026, in the first group of markets. A spring 2027 launch for the standard model is reported, not confirmed by Apple, and Apple has not announced its price.
When did the iPhone 18 come out?
The answer depends on which model you mean. Apple announced the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max on September 9, 2026. Preorders opened September 12 at 5 a.m. Pacific time in more than 65 countries and regions, and availability began September 18 in those initial markets. Apple listed September 25 availability for 20 additional countries and regions. Check your local Apple store for current availability in your country or region. Apple’s announcement
The standard iPhone 18 was not part of that announcement. MacRumors’ August 31 schedule guide says it is expected in spring 2027, but Apple has not confirmed a release window, date, or preorder schedule. In a separate June 15 report, MacRumors connected the timing to remarks by Largan Precision chairman Lin En-ping about an unnamed major U.S. customer postponing a product launch until Q1 2027. Lin did not identify Apple or the product, so that account is not confirmation of an iPhone 18 launch date.
What are the iPhone 18 prices?
Apple lists these U.S. starting prices for the announced Pro models. Both start with 256GB of storage; Apple lists options up to 2TB. Prices and availability may differ outside the United States. Apple’s announcement

How to choose between the available Pro models and waiting
If you need a phone now, the Pro and Pro Max have announced U.S. prices and availability. If you are deciding whether to wait for the standard iPhone 18, the key difference is certainty: Apple has announced neither its release timing nor its price. There is not enough confirmed information to make a reliable comparison of the standard model’s screen, camera, or chip against the Pro models.
For a choice between the two available Pro models, consider size, storage, and budget. Both begin at 256GB and are offered in capacities through 2TB; their U.S. starting prices differ by $100. Apple says video playback can reach up to 36 hours on the eSIM-only iPhone 18 Pro and up to 45 hours on the eSIM-only Pro Max under its testing methodology; actual results vary. Treat those as Apple’s test figures, not a guarantee of everyday battery life. Apple’s announcement

Accessories and coverage for iPhone 18 Pro
Apple lists TechWoven, Clear, and Silicone MagSafe cases for iPhone 18 Pro. If you buy a case from another seller, verify that its listing names the exact phone model; a case designed for a different iPhone may not fit correctly. Apple also names AppleCare+ and AppleCare One as coverage options in available markets, but check current local availability and terms before buying. Apple’s announcement
