Titanfall 2 is the strongest pick when you want a compact, polished FPS campaign: IGN estimates its story at about five to seven hours. The other games on this list offer distinct solo experiences, but the available playtime reports are not comparable enough to promise that every campaign fits into one weekend. Treat the ranking as a guide to campaign quality, pace, and style—not a guarantee of completion time.
How to choose a weekend FPS campaign
“Weekend” depends on how many hours you have, your difficulty setting, and whether you explore or chase every collectible. The clearest short-campaign estimate in this group is for Titanfall 2; the only other specific story-playthrough report below is one reviewer’s experience with Wolfenstein: The New Order. Other runtime figures sometimes shown for these games may describe completionist play rather than the main story.
The order below is an editorial ranking, not a measured consensus. It weighs campaign quality and pace alongside how readily each game suits a focused solo session.
1. Titanfall 2: the best compact all-rounder
Titanfall 2 combines fast movement, sharp firefights, and a story built around pilot Jack Cooper and his Titan, BT-7274. Its campaign keeps changing its ideas, including a standout time-switching mission, rather than relying on one combat rhythm throughout. TechRadar and GamesRadar+ also emphasize the game’s mech action and the relationship at the heart of its story.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
IGN estimates the campaign at about five to seven hours. That is an editorial estimate, not a controlled playtime test, but it gives this game the clearest evidence-backed fit for a short weekend slot among these recommendations. Choose it if you want a brisk campaign with both spectacle and memorable mechanics.
2. Wolfenstein: The New Order: a story-led shooter with stealth breaks
Wolfenstein: The New Order balances forceful gunfights with stealth options and a strongly character-driven alternate-history story. That variety makes it a good choice if you want more than a sequence of arenas, though its pace is less uniformly fast than a pure action shooter.
GameSpot reviewer Daniel Hindes reported finishing the PS4 single-player campaign in roughly 12 hours in 2014. That is one reviewer’s playthrough, not a typical-time promise; his subsequent PC replay at higher difficulty took a few more hours. It is the most useful second runtime reference here, but it is not directly comparable to IGN’s estimate for Titanfall 2.

3. DOOM (2016): for relentless forward-moving combat
DOOM (2016) is the pick for players who want aggressive combat, varied weapons, and momentum. Its loop rewards pushing into fights rather than hanging back, with melee finishers adding another way to manage encounters. It is a strong solo-campaign choice if combat matters more to you than a story-heavy presentation.
GOG lists its DRM-free release as single-player only. The 27-hour value shown on that page is for completionist play, not the story campaign, so it should not be used to estimate how long a straightforward run will take.
4. Superhot: tactical shooting in a puzzle-like frame
Superhot changes the usual FPS rhythm: time moves only when you move. Each encounter becomes a small tactical problem, asking you to plan movement and shots instead of relying on reflexes alone. GameSpot describes its campaign as a blend of FPS and puzzle design.

- Double Up on Efficiency: The two USB-A 3.0 ports and a USB-C port support a fast 5Gbps data rate, significantly boosting your transfer speeds and improving productivity.
- Fast and Reliable 85W Charging: Offers high-capacity, speedy charging for laptops up to 85W, so you spend less time tethered to an outlet and more time being productive.
- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (7-in-1), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
Pick it if you want a mechanically unusual solo campaign and enjoy thinking through rooms. Its deliberate, stop-start pace is a different kind of weekend experience from the continuous action of DOOM or Titanfall 2.

5. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare: action-movie pacing with a stealth standout
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare moves between cinematic action and quieter stealth, with “All Ghillied Up” as a notable change of pace. GameSpot highlights that contrast as a defining strength of its campaign.
It suits players who want a tightly staged military shooter rather than an exploratory world. The evidence cited here establishes its campaign character, not a story-only runtime, so allow for your own pace and edition when deciding whether it fits your available hours.

- Please Note: To reach 10Gbps speed, keep the cable under 3.3 ft. For USB A Male to USB C adapters, try flipping the USB C connector. USB C Male to USB A adapters support bidirectional 10Gbps transfer within 3.3 ft
6. BioShock: choose it for atmosphere and narrative
BioShock is the atmospheric option. Its underwater setting of Rapture, story emphasis, and Plasmids give it a distinctive identity beyond conventional gunplay. GameSpot’s campaign overview points to those narrative and world-building strengths.
Choose it when setting and discovery matter as much as shooting. It is less of a straightforward, combat-first recommendation than the higher-ranked games, and the sources cited here do not establish a story completion time.

7. Metro Exodus: the choice for exploration, not a guaranteed quick finish
Metro Exodus offers the most exploratory structure on this list. GameSpot contrasts its semi-open areas with the more linear earlier Metro games, making it the best fit here if you want room to investigate rather than move through a consistently linear sequence.
Best Value

- What You Get: Anker 332 USB-C Hub (5-in-1), welcome guide, our worry-free 18-month warranty, and friendly customer service.
That openness also makes it the least obviously weekend-sized recommendation in this evidence set. No story completion time was established in the cited sources, so put it lower if a short, predictable campaign is your main requirement.

Pick by the experience you want
- Shortest well-supported campaign: Titanfall 2, with IGN’s estimate of about five to seven hours.
- Story and stealth as well as shooting: Wolfenstein: The New Order; its roughly 12-hour figure comes from one reviewer’s PS4 playthrough.
- Combat above all: DOOM (2016).
- Careful, puzzle-like encounters: Superhot.
- Cinematic military action: Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.
