Five RYOBI electric tools cover the jobs most yards create: mowing and edging, trimming along borders, clearing leaves and debris, shaping hedges, and light pruning. Whether each one earns a place in your garage depends on your yard size, the tools you already own, and how often you would use each one. No single set suits every household, so this guide treats the five as options to match against your own work rather than as a universal list.

Start with the job, not the brand
Before comparing models, answer these questions for your own property:

- How large is the lawn, and how much of it runs along fences, walls, or garden beds that a mower cannot reach?
- How much loose debris (leaves, clippings, grit on hard surfaces) do you clear in a typical month?
- How tall are your shrubs, and do you need reach from the ground or only shaping at arm’s length?
- Do you cut woody branches, and if so, are they thin limbs or thicker wood?
- Which battery platform, if any, do you already own? Sharing batteries across tools only helps if the platform matches.
- Do you have space to store a full set, or only room for two or three tools?
The five tools, one per common yard job
1. 12-inch 3-in-1 Mower/String Trimmer/Edger (PCLST05B)
This tool combines mowing, string trimming, and edging in one unit. It suits a small lawn where you want one machine for the main cut and the edges. It is not a substitute for a full-size mower on a large lawn. The “12-inch” figure in the product name refers to the listed cutting dimension; check the product page and manual to confirm exactly what that measurement covers before comparing it with other mowers. The trade-off of a multi-function tool is that you swap attachments between jobs rather than keeping a dedicated tool for each one.

2. 13-inch String Trimmer/Edger (PCLST02B)
This is a dedicated trimmer and edger for grass along fence lines, borders, and around posts. It is the better choice if you already own a mower and only need edge work, or if you prefer a trimmer that does not also mow. Confirm the replacement line type and the spool procedure in the manual before you buy, and check the listing to see whether batteries and a charger are included.
3. 220 CFM Compact Blower (PSBLB01B)
This blower is aimed at routine cleanup: leaves on lawns, clippings on paths, and debris on patios and driveways. The 220 CFM figure is the airflow rating printed in RYOBI’s product name. It is a manufacturer rating, not a result from independent testing. If airflow matters to you, compare the listed rating with other blowers you are considering, and also weigh the tool’s weight and whether a battery is included.
4. 24-inch HP Brushless Hedge Trimmer Kit (PBLHG01K)
This is the hedge option for shrubs and hedges you can reach from the ground. The listing is a kit, so check which battery and charger come with it before you order. If your hedges are taller than you can comfortably reach, RYOBI’s 18-inch Pole Hedge Trimmer (PCLPHG01B) is the alternative to evaluate, because reach matters more than blade length for that job. Blade length alone does not indicate how well a trimmer will perform, so compare reach and the size of the hedge you plan to shape.
5. 10-inch HP Brushless Chainsaw (PBLCW01B)
This small chainsaw fits light pruning: thin limbs and occasional cutting of small branches. It does not replace a larger saw for thick wood or for felling. Read the manual before first use, wear eye, hearing, and hand protection, and follow the kickback and bar-handling guidance it provides. If your work involves regular cutting of thick limbs, a pole pruner or a larger saw will be the more suitable choice.

Before you buy
- Confirm the package. Some listings are tool only, and others are kits. Check the product page for battery and charger contents on every model you consider.
- Check battery compatibility by platform. RYOBI’s Outdoor Power range includes 18V ONE+ and 40V systems, among others. Tools from different platforms do not share batteries, so check each product page for compatibility before assuming one battery will work across your set.
- Verify prices and stock on the day you buy. Collection pages show current prices for some models, but those figures change, so confirm them on the live listing.
