An official US launch of the OnePlus 16 looks unlikely: on July 16, 2026, OnePlus said it would no longer launch new products in North America and Europe. The statement did not name or formally cancel the OnePlus 16. It also said existing users’ after-sales support and software updates would remain guaranteed. OnePlus’s statement, reported by TechCrunch, is the reason to consider other phones—not proof that the 16 is canceled worldwide.

There are no confirmed US OnePlus 16 specifications here to compare against. The five Android phones below are options for people weighing the traits OnePlus buyers may value, such as performance, display, battery and charging, cameras, software, and price. They are not a tested ranking, and current US stock has not been verified for four of the five. Check the exact model, unlocked or carrier compatibility, and live listing before ordering.

Which OnePlus 16 alternative should you choose?

OnePlus 15 Staying with OnePlus, if US stock is available $899 MSRP, as listed by Android Authority in 2026 6,000mAh battery and fast wired charging, as described by Android Authority

All prices in the table are guide-published MSRPs, not guaranteed current transaction prices. The Samsung store figure is an October 9, 2026 snapshot and may change; availability for the other four models was not independently confirmed. Best premium Android option: Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra

The Galaxy S26 Ultra is the clearest premium Android landing spot in this shortlist. Samsung’s US store offered an unlocked 512GB configuration when checked, and its product page lists a 6.9-inch display, 5,000mAh battery, and 200MP wide camera. Android Authority also points to flagship performance, camera versatility, a privacy display, and long software support.

#1 Best Overall
OnePlus 9, 128GB + 8GB RAM, Winter Mist - Unlocked (Renewed)
  • Compatible with Most GSM and Carriers like T-Mobile, AT&T, MetroPCS, etc.
  • ROM: 128GB, RAM: 8GB, Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G (5 nm), Octa-core, Adreno 660, OxygenOS based on Android 11
  • 6.55" 120Hz Fluid AMOLED, 2400 x 1080 pixels 402 ppi, 4500mAh Battery, Bluetooth 5.2, In-display Fingerprint Sensor
  • Hasselblad Camera for Mobile - Rear Camera: 48MP, f/1.8 + 50MP, f/2.2 + 2MP, f/2.4, Front Camera: 16MP, f/2.4

The trade-offs are cost and charging: Samsung is the more expensive choice in the guide’s comparison, and Android Authority describes its charging as slower than the fast-wired-charging experience OnePlus buyers may expect. The guide attributes seven years of Android version upgrades and support to the S26 Ultra; confirm the current terms with Samsung before relying on a specific support commitment.

Best for Google software and cameras: Google Pixel 10

Android Authority presents the Pixel 10 as a lower-priced flagship choice, listing a $799 MSRP, Tensor G5 processor, telephoto camera, and Google software experience. It is the natural fit if you prefer Google’s software and image processing over OnePlus’s hardware-first appeal. The guide describes the screen as 6.3 inches, smaller than the Samsung and Nothing options.

The guide’s lower street-price estimate is time-sensitive, so use the MSRP only as a reference and check a current US retailer listing for the actual price and availability.

Best design-forward midrange option: Nothing Phone 4a Pro

The Nothing Phone 4a Pro is a value-tier alternative rather than a like-for-like flagship performance replacement. Android Authority lists a $499 MSRP and describes a 6.83-inch 144Hz AMOLED display, Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor, and telephoto camera. That combination makes it worth considering if you want a large, high-refresh-rate screen and camera flexibility without paying flagship-guide prices.

Do not assume its gaming or sustained performance matches the Galaxy S26 Ultra or OnePlus 15: the cited guide positions the Nothing as midrange, and no comparable performance testing is established here. Verify a current US listing before choosing it.

Best compact, lightweight choice: Motorola Edge (2026)

Android Authority describes the Motorola Edge (2026) as a roughly 160g phone with a 6.3-inch display, 5,000mAh battery, and 68W wired charging. Its $600 figure is the guide’s listed MSRP, and the author recommends looking for a sale. This is the shortlist’s compact option for readers who value a lighter phone over a large-screen flagship.

The guide cautions that Motorola’s software support is shorter than that of some rivals. Check Motorola’s current support policy and the live US listing for the exact model before buying; the phone’s stock was not independently checked.

Best if you still want OnePlus: OnePlus 15

Android Authority calls the OnePlus 15 the company’s US “swan song” and reports a 6,000mAh battery with fast wired charging. Its guide-listed MSRP is $899, but that does not establish current US stock. Given OnePlus’s July 2026 regional-launch policy, treat it as an existing-device or remaining-stock option—not as evidence of a future official OnePlus 16 alternative.

OnePlus said existing users’ after-sales support and software updates would remain guaranteed. That statement does not provide model-specific details about the OnePlus 15’s future support experience, so check the manufacturer’s current information and the seller’s warranty terms before purchase. TechCrunch’s report on OnePlus’s announcement quotes the company as saying: “After careful assessment, OnePlus will no longer launch new products in Europe and North America. All users’ rights and interests, including after-sales support and software updates, will remain fully guaranteed.”

How to choose based on what you value in OnePlus

  • Flagship speed: Start with the Galaxy S26 Ultra or OnePlus 15. Pixel 10 is positioned as a mainstream flagship; Nothing Phone 4a Pro and Motorola Edge (2026) are midrange choices. These categories are not a substitute for comparable performance tests.
  • Screen size: The listed displays range from 6.3 inches on Pixel 10 and Motorola Edge (2026), to 6.83 inches on Nothing Phone 4a Pro and 6.9 inches on Galaxy S26 Ultra. Choose by how much screen you want to carry, not by size alone.
  • Battery and charging: Samsung lists 5,000mAh; Motorola is described with a 5,000mAh battery and 68W wired charging; Android Authority describes the OnePlus 15 as having a 6,000mAh battery and fast wired charging. These figures do not establish equal battery life or charging time across phones.
  • Camera flexibility: Android Authority highlights telephoto cameras on Pixel 10 and Nothing Phone 4a Pro, and a high-resolution main camera and zoom on Samsung. Those are feature descriptions, not independent comparative camera test results.
  • Software longevity: Compare the support policy for the specific model and region you buy. Android Authority attributes seven years of Android version upgrades and support to Galaxy S26 Ultra and notes Motorola’s shorter support relative to some rivals; verify current commitments with each manufacturer.
  • Price: The guide-listed MSRPs range from $499 for Nothing Phone 4a Pro to $1,299.99 for Galaxy S26 Ultra, with Pixel 10 at $799, Motorola Edge (2026) at $600, and OnePlus 15 at $899. These are 2026 guide figures, not live quotes.

What the OnePlus announcement means for US buyers

OnePlus’s July 16, 2026 statement covers future product launches in North America and Europe and says support and software updates for existing users will remain guaranteed. It does not say that OnePlus phones immediately stop working, that support has ended, or that the OnePlus 16 has been formally canceled in every market. The practical implication is narrower: an official US OnePlus 16 launch appears unlikely under the stated policy, while an already-announced or remaining-stock phone may still be a separate purchase possibility.

If you want to leave Android, Apple’s iPhone 17 Pro is a separate cross-platform option rather than one of these five Android alternatives. Apple lists a 6.3-inch OLED display with refresh rates up to 120Hz, an A19 Pro chip, and an IP68 rating on its iPhone 17 Pro technical specifications page.
