These 26 motion designer and animator portfolios are a curated set of examples—not a formally tested ranking. They span 2D and 3D animation, title design, character work, product motion, art direction and mixed practices, making them most useful when you compare sites that match the work you want to do. The collection was published by Colorlib on September 29, 2026.
How to use these portfolio examples
Look beyond visual style. Notice how quickly each site reveals the artist’s work, what kinds of projects it emphasizes, and whether it explains the process and the artist’s role. A portfolio aimed at title design may organize work differently from one focused on product animation or motion branding.
The examples below draw on Colorlib’s curated list and the specific portfolio details available for several artists. Individual sites can change, so treat descriptions as snapshots rather than guarantees of current content or availability. See Colorlib’s 2026 collection.
26 motion designer and animator portfolios
Use the names and specialties as starting points for exploring the collection. The examples highlighted here show different ways to present a reel, explain authorship, and make a specialty legible.
#1 Best Overall
- Stash Books-Free-Motion Quilting Workbook
Oliver Latta (Extraweg): title sequences with context
Colorlib describes Latta’s Emmy-winning title-sequence work for both seasons of Severance as project case studies. The pages separate the film, stills and credits, and identify his role alongside collaborators. That structure helps visitors see not just the finished sequence but also who contributed to it.
Mike Labrow: a reel viewers can decode
Labrow’s reel breakdown is described as timestamped and identifies the client, agency and his role; project pages repeat credit information. That makes it easier to understand which shots belong to his contribution, particularly when the work was produced by a team.
Jakub Jezovic: a broad independent practice
Jezovic’s live portfolio describes him as an independent motion designer and animator. Its listed services include 2D and 3D work, motion branding, explainers, social content, interactive work and art direction. This is a useful example of making a varied service offering explicit.
Karnn Bhullar: selected work and booking information
Bhullar’s portfolio identifies him as an animator and motion designer based in Bristol and presents selected brand and entertainment projects. It also says he is accepting longer and shorter bookings for 2026; check the live site for current availability, since booking information can change.
Tom Bartlett: a mixed media range
Bartlett’s portfolio describes work across 2D and 3D animation, motion graphics, live-capture video and illustration. Its selected-work list includes a 2025 showreel, giving visitors a route into both his range and recent work.
Explore the rest by discipline
The full Colorlib collection includes motion designers, animators, motion directors, title designers, in-house product motion designers and students. As you browse the remaining entries, compare like with like: a specialist character animator’s portfolio has different needs from a director’s or a product-motion designer’s.

What strong portfolio presentation makes easy to see
Put the reel near the front
Colorlib’s roundup recommends placing a reel first or no more than one click away, and notes that its general reels are close to a minute, with named examples around that duration. Treat this as guidance observed in the collection, not a universal hiring requirement. The practical aim is to let a visitor quickly judge whether the work is relevant.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
Show motion while people browse
Short looping previews can make animated work visible in a project grid without requiring visitors to open every item. Keep full-length films on project pages, where viewers can choose to spend more time. This balances quick scanning with room to show a piece in full.
Explain the work behind the finished clip
Project pages can pair the final film with stills, process material and case-study context. Latta’s Severance pages, which separate film, stills and credits, illustrate how a finished result can sit alongside information about its making and contributors.

State your contribution clearly
When a project involved a team, identify your role and the relevant client, agency or collaborators. Labrow’s timestamped reel breakdown is one example: it connects shots to credits so viewers do not have to guess what the artist did.
Choose projects that support the story
A reel gives a quick overview; a handful of complete projects can show how the work was developed and delivered. Wix’s own portfolio guidance recommends a strong reel and a selection of projects presented with video, stills or GIFs, plus process materials such as storyboards, character designs, style frames and rough animation. That is platform-vendor advice, not an independent standard.
Which website platforms appear in the collection?
Colorlib reports the following platform counts among its 26 examples. These figures describe this roundup only; they are not a measure of platform popularity across the motion-design industry.

Use the platform tally as a point of curiosity, not as a recommendation. The more useful comparison is whether a site presents its work clearly and supports the project detail its creator needs.
Where to find more motion portfolios
Motion Folios is another curated discovery directory for motion-design portfolios. As with any directory, open the artist’s own site to check what is currently live and how the work is presented.
