These 24 architecture portfolio websites are useful references for how to sequence projects, show drawings alongside finished images, explain individual contributions, and make contact or application materials easy to find. They are examples to study—not an objectively measured ranking. The list and observations below draw on Colorlib’s 2026 roundup; websites can change, and Colorlib reported that some domains it checked had expired or been repurposed. Open each link and confirm that it still belongs to the architect before relying on it.

24 architecture portfolio websites and what to learn from them

Use the examples as prompts for decisions about your own work, rather than templates to copy. The strongest lesson is often a specific presentation choice: how a project is categorized, what evidence is shown, or how the author’s role is credited. The examples and descriptions here are from Colorlib’s 2026 roundup, not a fresh independent audit of every linked site.

  1. Hamish Angus McAndrew: Look for project credits that identify who handled each RIBA stage. This makes participation more legible than a project title alone.
  2. Mia Sherman: Her first screen links to a PDF portfolio and résumé. Notice how quickly a visitor can reach application materials.
  3. Hugh Strange Architects: A practice example to consider alongside individual and student portfolios when thinking about how a body of work represents a studio.
  4. Ray Zhu: The portfolio distinguishes academic work from office work and describes his role on firm projects—a useful model for separating authorship from team experience.
  5. Laura Wiedenhöver: An individual portfolio example in the roundup; inspect its project selection and presentation as a reference for a personal site.
  6. Hood Design Studio: Work is divided into landscape, urbanism and research, art and fabrication, and exhibitions. Categories help visitors understand distinct strands of practice.
  7. Sebastian Nitu: A student and graduate portfolio example to compare with more established practices in the roundup.
  8. Mi Zhou: A personal portfolio example; pay attention to how its project pages balance visual material and context.
  9. Sean Godsell Architects: Selected built work, projects under construction, and unbuilt projects are separated, so status is clear rather than implied by imagery.
  10. Brandon Kemp: One of the individual portfolios in the collection; use it to consider how a personal project index can make work browsable.
  11. Design Distill: A portfolio example in the roundup that broadens the set beyond conventional practice-site formats.
  12. Christina Vogiatzis: Her thesis page is described as captioning drawings and linking to a university repository. That combination gives academic work both explanation and a route to further material.
  13. Alda Capi Architecture: A practice portfolio to examine for how projects are presented as a collective body of work.
  14. Anna Heringer: An architect’s site included in the roundup; consider how a portfolio can communicate a recognizable practice identity through selected work.
  15. Nicole Ross: The first button downloads a portfolio PDF, making a key deliverable immediately accessible.
  16. Lateral Office: A practice example useful for comparing studio-level presentation with individual portfolios.
  17. Kim Wilkie: An individual architect example in the collection; look at how project selection conveys the scope of a practice.
  18. Maya O’Neill: A personal portfolio reference among the student and graduate examples.
  19. Nicholas Gurney: Another individual portfolio to study for its project organization and visual presentation.
  20. Mir: A visualization studio example, showing why portfolio expectations may differ when the work is primarily image-led.
  21. Rozana Montiel Estudio de Arquitectura: A studio example to compare with portfolios organized around one architect’s authorship.
  22. Other image-led and project-index examples in the roundup: Colorlib also includes sites that foreground imagery or a project index. Use these as references for browsing and sequencing, while checking that each image has enough context to be understood.
  23. Other team and student examples in the roundup: Some identify collaborators and specify which work belongs to the portfolio author. Study those credits when your projects involve group work.
  24. Other drawing- and process-rich examples in the roundup: Sites described with plans, sections, diagrams, models, construction photos, or captions demonstrate ways to show how a design developed—not only its polished outcome.

Colorlib’s article is titled as a 24-site roundup, but its described list includes examples across students, graduates, architects, firms, landscape practices, and visualization studios. Treat the examples as varied references, not as a standardized comparison of equivalent portfolios.

What should an architecture portfolio include?

Include a considered selection of work and enough supporting information for a reader to understand the project, your contribution, and how to follow up. Colorlib recommends four to eight strongest projects, but that is the publisher’s guidance, not a universal hiring or admissions rule. Follow the recipient’s instructions if they specify a different selection or format.

  • Your role: For collaborative or office projects, state your responsibilities and distinguish your work from teammates’ contributions. Name collaborators and consultants where appropriate.
  • Credits: Credit photography, renderings, drawings, prior firms, teammates, and other contributors accurately.
  • Application and contact information: Make an about page, CV or résumé, and a clear contact route easy to find. If useful, link a concise PDF portfolio from the site.

Do you need a website, a PDF, or a printed portfolio?

Use the format the employer, school, or interview setting requests. A website is easy to share and can present a broader, navigable body of work; a PDF is a practical application document and may be required with a size limit. When feasible, maintain both and link the shorter PDF from the website, tailoring it to each recipient’s instructions. A printed portfolio can support an in-person interview, from loose sheets to a bound book, but it is not necessary for every application.

How to choose a portfolio website platform

The examples in Colorlib’s roundup use Wix, Archifolio, custom code, Cargo, Squarespace, WordPress, Adobe Portfolio, Format, and Webflow. No independent evidence here establishes a best platform. A 2026 comparison by Framekit is vendor-authored, so treat its rankings, feature descriptions, prices, and performance statements as that publisher’s claims and verify current details with the providers.

  • Project storytelling: Can a project page move from concept and site analysis through plans, sections, process, and result, or does the layout force everything into a uniform image grid?
  • PDF workflow: Do you need an accompanying application PDF, and does the platform support the workflow you want?
  • Mobile presentation: Check image-heavy pages on a phone as well as a desktop.
  • Long-term cost: Consider the cost over the period the portfolio will remain online; prices and included features can change.
  • Intended use: A job applicant’s portfolio, an individual practice site, and a studio project archive may need different navigation and maintenance.

A separate Sitebuilder Report architecture-site roundup, updated 2 October 2026, also calls attention to simple navigation, prominent contact information, project categories, and image captions. It discloses affiliate commissions, so use it as another source of examples rather than as independent proof that a particular platform is best.

Find inspiration beyond portfolio roundups

For a wider range of practice identities, Wallpaper* published its Architects’ Directory 2026 on 4 September 2026. It features 30 studios from 27 countries. It is an editorial selection of emerging practices, not a ranking or audit of portfolio websites. Its profiles can broaden your reference set; for instance, Ecuadorian architect Diana Salvador describes her practice this way: “What sets me apart is how I inhabit my role as an architect, delivering a housing solution without leaving a scar on the environment.” That statement is about her approach to architecture, not a claim about web design.
