Short answer: the strongest substantiated choices are UserTesting, Userlytics, Trymata, PlaybookUX, Userfeel, Testbirds, Lyssna, Userbrain, Maze, UXtweak and UXArmy. They recruit people to test websites or prototypes and return recordings, responses or live conversations. They are not automated browser-test runners. The original “15” count is not supportable from currently verified material, so this guide focuses on 11 services and explains how to evaluate any additional vendor safely.
What a crowdsourced website-testing platform actually provides
These services combine research software with access to participants. Depending on the product, you can assign tasks on a live site or prototype, run moderated interviews, collect survey answers, record sessions, or study navigation with first-click, card-sorting and tree-testing methods. The participant source is a major buying decision: some vendors recruit from their own panel, some let you invite your own people, and some support both.
Before comparing brands, define the audience you need: country or region, language, age range, accessibility needs, device, job role and specialist knowledge. A large vendor-reported panel does not prove that your sample represents the population you care about. No independent cross-platform measure in the available evidence establishes a winner for participant quality.

The 11 platforms, and when each fits
UserTesting
UserTesting is the broadest option in this set for teams that want one environment for concept, prototype, website, app, campaign and competitor research. Its listed methods include usability testing, live conversations, surveys and analysis. Pricing is quote-based and depends on organization size, study types and features, so request a scenario-specific estimate rather than treating it as a fixed subscription.

#1 Best Overall
Userlytics
Userlytics combines human testing, a global panel and AI-assisted analysis. It is worth shortlisting when automated organization of qualitative material matters, but validate how its panel can be filtered for your exact country, language and professional profile. Enterprise security requirements should be checked during procurement.
Trymata
Trymata is described in official search material as supporting usability studies for websites, apps and prototypes. Several older URLs redirected, so confirm the current product name, active methods, panel coverage and prices before committing budget.
PlaybookUX
PlaybookUX is described as supporting moderated and unmoderated research, panel access and multiple methods. Its pages were not fully accessible in the reviewed material; treat feature and price details as items to verify in a live demonstration or current proposal.
Userfeel
Userfeel publishes a credit model with annual tiers shown at $0, $3,000, $5,500 and $15,000. The page says recruitment, incentives, transcription and AI analysis are included in credit pricing, and lists moderated and unmoderated studies, surveys, tree tests and closed card sorts on applicable tiers. It also supports its panel or your own participants. The reported “more than 1 million” testers and “40+ languages” are vendor claims, not independent representativeness evidence.
Rank #2
Testbirds
Testbirds combines UX and software-quality crowdtesting through a global tester community and BirdCoins credits. It can suit teams that want user experience and QA perspectives in one engagement. Ask for the BirdCoins conversion, incentive treatment, device coverage and audience-recruitment cost in writing. A 2026 acquisition announcement by UNGUESS appeared on its site, so confirm current ownership and branding before signing.
Lyssna
Lyssna lists usability tests, surveys, interviews, recruitment and a verified participant panel. Its page reported more than 690,000 participants when accessed in 2026. Use that as a vendor-reported count only; evaluate the actual incidence rate and screening answers for your target audience.
Userbrain
Userbrain focuses on unmoderated remote tests for websites, apps and prototypes. You can use its panel or invite your own participants. The vendor reported more than 170,000 qualified testers at page access in 2026, alongside completion statistics; neither figure independently measures participant quality.
Maze
Maze supports moderated and unmoderated studies, live website and prototype testing, mobile testing, interviews, card sorting, tree testing and surveys. It is a strong candidate for product teams that need several research methods around one project. Confirm whether participant recruitment, incentives, recording retention and analysis seats are included in your plan.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsUXtweak
UXtweak lists website, prototype and mobile-app testing plus first-click tests, surveys, interviews, card sorting and tree testing. It offers panel and other recruitment choices. Compare its screening controls and device targeting with the actual make-up of your audience, not with a headline panel size.
UXArmy
UXArmy is described as supporting website testing with either its panel or researcher-sourced participants, alongside a broader research platform. Verify current methods, geographic reach, pricing and data controls on its live pages because the available evidence came from search-result excerpts.
How to choose for a real study
1. Match the method to the question
- Use unmoderated task tests for first impressions, findability and workflow friction at scale.
- Use moderated sessions when you need probing questions, explanation of workarounds or observation of complex jobs.
- Use surveys for attitudes and quantification, but do not treat stated preference as observed usability.
- Use first-click, card-sort and tree-test methods for navigation and information architecture.
2. Decide who supplies participants
Panel recruitment is convenient, while your own participants may be essential for a narrow B2B role, existing customer segment or regulated population. Ask how screening is verified, how duplicate or professional testers are managed, and whether you can specify language, country, device, accessibility needs and technical expertise.
3. Price the complete study
Calculate a common unit: completed sessions multiplied by session length, plus recruitment, incentives, transcription, analysis, seats, screening, over-recruitment and any minimum commitment. UserTesting is quote-based; Testbirds uses BirdCoins; Userfeel publishes credits and annual tiers. These models cannot be compared by subscription price alone.

4. Check operational and data requirements
- Can participants test a production URL, password-protected staging site or prototype?
- Are desktop and mobile recordings supported for the devices you need?
- Can observers collaborate without purchasing unnecessary seats?
- What are the retention, export, deletion and access-control policies?
- What turnaround is promised for recruitment and completed sessions, and what happens when screeners fail?
Design a study that produces usable evidence
- Write one decision the study must inform, such as whether first-time visitors can find pricing.
- Define a recruitable audience with inclusion and exclusion criteria before looking at panel counts.
- Create realistic tasks with a success condition, but avoid telling participants where to click.
- Pilot a few sessions to catch broken links, confusing instructions and recording failures.
- Separate observed behavior, participant explanation and researcher interpretation in your notes.
- Report severity, frequency, affected audience and a concrete recommendation for each finding.
Where ScreenshotNeo fits—and where it does not
ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API and MCP server, not a replacement for recruiting human participants. It is useful when your research workflow needs consistent visual captures of pages, prototypes or test states before or after a human study. It accepts cookie and consent banners like a visitor, then removes more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups and chat widgets; each step can be disabled. Only clean shots are billed: bot checks or CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads and cache hits cost nothing, and response headers report the page verdict and billing status.
It supports full-page captures with lazy images loaded, CSS-selector element captures, dark mode, device presets and custom viewports, retina scale, PDF output, custom CSS and JavaScript, clicks, selector waits, delays, network-idle waits, request and resource blocking, headers, cookies, user agents, authorization, timezone, geolocation, transparent backgrounds, resizing, TTL caching, signed links, asynchronous jobs, bulk capture of up to 100 URLs per call, a usage API and an OpenAPI specification. Its MCP server exposes take_screenshot, get_page_info and capture_pdf to Claude, Cursor and other MCP clients.
Or skip the browser setup
One GET request returns PNG, JPEG, WebP or PDF. See the ScreenshotNeo documentation for all options.
curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp
import requests
r = requests.get("https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot", params={"access_key": "YOUR_API_KEY", "url": "https://stripe.com"}, timeout=90)
open("shot.webp", "wb").write(r.content)
const q = new URLSearchParams({ access_key: 'YOUR_API_KEY', url: 'https://stripe.com' });
const res = await fetch(`https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot?${q}`);
Cookie banners, popups and chat widgets are removed before the shot; bot checks, blank pages and failed loads are never billed; the MCP server lets AI agents take screenshots. The Free plan includes 1,000 screenshots a month with no card, and paid plans start at $5 for 3,000. Create a free ScreenshotNeo account.
Common failure modes and fixes
Participants cannot complete the task
Check that the URL is reachable without an unexpected login, that prototype links work on the assigned device, and that the screener did not exclude necessary experience. Re-run the pilot before recruiting more people.
The sample looks convenient but not relevant
Tighten screeners for geography, language, role, purchasing responsibility and recent behavior. Ask the vendor how it verifies those answers and whether professional testers can appear repeatedly.
Recordings are unusable
Test microphone, camera, consent and mobile permissions in a pilot. State whether think-aloud narration is required and provide a fallback for participants whose device blocks recording.
The quote exceeds the budget
Reduce nonessential methods, shorten sessions, use your own participants where appropriate, and request an itemized estimate separating incentives, recruitment, transcription, analysis and seats. Do not compare a credit package with a per-session quote until those components are normalized.
A screenshot or page capture is polluted by overlays
Use a capture workflow that handles consent and overlays before recording. ScreenshotNeo can remove supported cookie banners, newsletter popups and chat widgets, while its verdict and billing headers help distinguish failed loads from billable clean shots.
Why the headline count is 11, not 15
Only eleven named services had enough direct or official-excerpt support to describe responsibly here. Four additional names would require current primary-source verification. Treat any article claiming fifteen as a prompt to check whether each entry is genuinely a crowdsourced website-testing service rather than an automated QA runner, a generic research suite or a participant marketplace.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are crowdsourced website tests the same as automated browser tests?
No. Crowdsourced studies collect behavior and feedback from recruited people; automated runners execute scripted checks without human participants.
Can I use my own customers instead of a platform panel?
Several services in this guide, including Userfeel, Userbrain and UXArmy, describe routes for researcher-sourced participants. Confirm the current rules and costs before launch.
