Zoho’s April 2025 announcement brought AI-assisted app building to Zoho Creator, its low-code development platform. The launch highlighted CoCreator, which can take written or voice prompts, process flows, and business specification documents as starting points for building applications. Current Creator documentation describes a broader set of Zia capabilities—but access depends on plan, data centre, and the selected large language model (LLM) provider.
What Zoho announced in April 2025
InfoWorld reported on April 30, 2025, that Zoho announced 10 AI-centric services and features for Creator. The count describes that announcement; it is not a measure of outcomes or a claim about the platform’s complete feature inventory today. InfoWorld’s announcement coverage singled out CoCreator, which Zoho described as an AI “development partner.”
In the launch-era account, CoCreator could use voice or written prompts, process flows, and business specification documents to help create apps. The coverage also described transforming unstructured data from different file types and databases into customized applications. These are descriptions of the announced capabilities, not independent findings about how quickly or successfully a particular app can be built.
InfoWorld quoted Zoho’s pledge to provide “AI capabilities that drive real-time, practical and secure benefits to business users.” That is Zoho’s stated position, not independent validation of security or business results.

What Creator’s current Zia documentation covers
Zoho’s current help pages describe Zia as Creator’s AI layer for assisted development, automation, and text processing. The documented capabilities include creating and modifying applications from prompts; suggesting forms and fields; generating Deluge scripts and AI tasks; processing data; and building chat agents and agentic workflows. The exact capabilities available depend in part on the LLM configured for them. Zoho’s AI capabilities overview and Zia configuration guide describe the current feature set and setup.
Zoho’s AI app-builder page describes using a prompt to generate application components such as forms, reports, workflows, permissions, and dashboards, then building, launching, and refining the app. This is product guidance: generated components still need review for correctness, permissions, workflow behavior, and suitability for production. The page advertises a 15-day trial; check the page and applicable terms for current availability.

Provider, plan, and data-centre conditions
Zoho lists Zoho GenAI and external providers OpenAI, Google, and Anthropic for generative features. Provider choice affects which features can be used: Zoho currently documents the AI Agent feature as supported only with OpenAI. Zia features are available only on paid Creator plans, according to the configuration guide.
Provider availability also varies by Creator data centre. Zoho lists Zoho GenAI as unavailable in its CN, SA, and UAE data centres, and the listed external providers as unavailable in CN. External providers require provider credentials and setup, and may impose their own limits. These are the conditions in Zoho’s documentation at the time of writing; confirm them for your account and intended use before implementation.

Availability statements in this table reflect Zoho’s configuration documentation. Check your Creator data centre, plan, provider terms, and the specific feature you intend to use, since any one of these can constrain a setup.
How to assess whether Creator AI fits your use case
- Check plan eligibility. Confirm that your Creator plan includes Zia features.
- Identify the relevant data centre. Check whether the provider you are considering is available in that centre.
- Match the provider to the feature. For example, Zoho currently documents AI Agent as OpenAI-only.
- Account for external-provider setup. If using an external LLM provider, determine whether your organization can supply credentials and meet its setup and usage requirements.
- Review the generated app before launch. Test its data handling, permissions, scripts, and workflows against your requirements; a generated starting point is not proof of production readiness.
Zoho describes Zia as “the intelligence layer of Zoho Creator that enables AI-assisted application development, automation, and intelligent text processing.” That wording comes from Zoho Creator Help and reflects the vendor’s description of its product.

What the announcement does—and does not—establish
The announcement establishes that Zoho presented AI assistance as part of Creator’s low-code app-development offering, with CoCreator as a launch highlight. Current help documentation gives a more detailed picture of Zia’s app-building, scripting, data, chat, and workflow capabilities, along with provider and plan constraints.
The reviewed sources do not establish a dated, independent measure of productivity, security, or business outcomes. Zoho’s app-builder descriptions explain the intended workflow, but do not show that every generated app will be accurate, secure, or ready to deploy without human review.
