In macOS 27 Golden Gate kun je zien wanneer een app na het stoppen nog op de achtergrond actief is. De Mac waarschuwt je de eerste keer en toont een aanwijzing bij het Dock-symbool als je de aanwijzer erop houdt. Je kunt de huidige activiteit meteen stoppen via het Dock, of per app instellen of achtergrondactiviteit in de toekomst is toegestaan.
Wat betekent de melding in het Dock?
Een app afsluiten beëindigt niet altijd meteen alle activiteit. Volgens Apple Support kan een app na het stoppen nog korte tijd achtergrondtaken uitvoeren, bijvoorbeeld om op updates te controleren, gegevens te synchroniseren of andere taken af te ronden die nodig zijn om goed te werken. macOS laat zien wanneer dit gebeurt: de eerste keer verschijnt een melding en je ziet ook een status wanneer je de aanwijzer boven het Dock-symbool van de app houdt.
Apple waarschuwt dat achtergrondactiviteit de prestaties van de Mac kan vertragen. Dat betekent niet dat je bij elke app een merkbare vertraging zult ervaren. Sommige apps kunnen tijdens achtergrondactiviteit ook eerder toegestane toegang behouden tot sensoren, zoals de camera, microfoon of schermopname, of tot persoonlijke gegevens die je tijdens het gebruik hebt toegestaan.

- Zoek het symbool van de app in het Dock.
- Houd Control ingedrukt en klik op het symbool.
- Kies Stop uitvoeren op achtergrond. De Engelse Apple-instructie noemt deze optie Stop Running in Background.
Wil je de app juist weer gebruiken, dan kun je haar via het Dock opnieuw openen. De optie om te stoppen beëindigt de activiteit die op dat moment loopt; voor toekomstig gedrag wijzig je de instelling per app.

Beheer achtergrondactiviteit per app
- Open het Apple-menu en kies Systeeminstellingen.
- Ga naar Algemeen en vervolgens naar Inlogonderdelen en extensies.
- Zoek de app onder App-activiteit op achtergrond.
- Schakel de mogelijkheid voor die app in of uit.
Als je achtergrondactiviteit uitschakelt, kunnen functies zoals automatisch bijwerken of gegevenssynchronisatie mogelijk niet meer werken zoals verwacht. Werkt de app daarna niet goed, dan adviseert Apple om achtergrondactiviteit voor die app weer in te schakelen.
