“Quartet of Time” is an independent album of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time arrangements—not a newly announced Nintendo game. The project, performed by string quartet ATLYS and produced with ZREO: Second Quest, is being recorded; its announcement gives no release date.
What is Quartet of Time?
It is a full-length music album featuring arrangements of music from Ocarina of Time for string quartet. ATLYS performs the arrangements using two violins, viola, and cello, with ZREO: Second Quest as the independent production partner. The collaborators previously worked together on the 2023 album Fair Winds & Following Seas feat. ATLYS: Music from The Wind Waker.
The June 2026 announcement describes ATLYS as having formed in 2016 and having performed more than a thousand live performances; those figures are claims in the project announcement, not independently audited statistics. Zelda Universe’s June 27, 2026 article reproducing the announcement identifies Ari Fisher as ZREO: Second Quest’s arranger and composer.
Is Quartet of Time a new Zelda game from Nintendo?
No. The announcement describes an album, and it does not establish an official Nintendo game called Quartet of Time. Fisher’s remarks in the release refer to a remake, but that is his statement, not confirmation from Nintendo that it announced a remake or a game by this name.
#1 Best Overall
The release says: “The Legend of Zelda and Ocarina of Time are trademarks of Nintendo. Quartet of Time is an independent production; all compositions are licensed for release. This project is not affiliated with or endorsed by Nintendo.”
When will the album be released?
Recording is underway, and the announcement says several arrangements are complete. The plan is to release finished tracks individually on streaming platforms before releasing the full album. A physical edition is also planned, but the announcement does not specify its format, retailer, or release date. “Coming soon” should not be read as a confirmed date.

Who is making the album?
ATLYS is the performing string quartet, and ZREO: Second Quest is the production partner. Fisher said that Ocarina of Time inspired him to become a musician and that the collaborators had already been working on the album before they stopped keeping it secret. His comment explains the project’s background; it does not change the album’s independent status or confirm a Nintendo game announcement.
