Električni automobili zimi gube domet iz više razloga: hladnoća smanjuje količinu energije koju baterija može da isporuči, a struja se troši i na zagrevanje kabine i održavanje temperature baterije. Koliki će pad biti zavisi od modela, grejanja, spoljne temperature, rute i načina vožnje — zato ne postoji jedan procenat koji važi za svaki EV.
Koliko dometa električni automobil može da izgubi na hladnoći?
Brojke iz testova daju orijentir, ali ne i prognozu za svaki automobil. AAA je 2026. testirala tri električna i tri hibridna vozila na dinamometru, pri temperaturama testne ćelije od 20°F, 75°F i 95°F (oko −6,7°C, 23,9°C i 35°C). Kabina je bila podešena na 72°F (oko 22,2°C). Pri 20°F, EV vozila su imala 35,6% nižu MPGe efikasnost i 39,0% manji izračunati domet nego pri 75°F. To su rezultati kontrolisanog testa, ne univerzalni gubitak u stvarnoj vožnji. AAA-in izveštaj iz 2026.
U odvojenom saopštenju iz 2019, AAA je prijavila prosečan pad dometa od 41% pri 20°F uz uključeno grejanje kabine, u testu pet električnih vozila. Ta brojka nije neposredno uporediva s rezultatom iz 2026: testirani su različiti uzorci i vozila, a procenti ne predstavljaju jednu stopu za sve automobile. AAA-ino saopštenje iz 2019.

Hladna baterija isporučuje manje korisne energije
Niska temperatura usporava hemijske reakcije u bateriji i utiče na napon i raspoloživi kapacitet. Zbog toga za vožnju može biti dostupno manje energije nego pri umerenoj temperaturi. Efekat je izraženiji u velikoj hladnoći, a sistemi za termalno upravljanje mogu zagrevati bateriju, uz potrošnju dodatne energije. Grejanje kabine troši struju
Automobil sa motorom sa unutrašnjim sagorevanjem može da iskoristi otpadnu toplotu motora za grejanje. Električni automobil za zagrevanje kabine koristi električnu energiju, pa je grejanje dodatni teret za bateriju. DOE navodi HVAC kao jedan od značajnih činilaca zimskog gubitka dometa. Što je veća razlika između spoljne temperature i željene temperature u kabini, vozilu je potrebno više energije za grejanje.
Baterija može tražiti dodatno zagrevanje
Vozilo može trošiti energiju da bateriju dovede do odgovarajuće temperature ili da je održava u pogodnom temperaturnom opsegu. Koliko energije to zahteva i kada se grejanje aktivira zavisi od konkretnog modela i njegove strategije upravljanja temperaturom baterije; zato dva EV-a na istoj temperaturi ne moraju imati isti rezultat. DOE-ov tehnički pregled razmatra kako HVAC i termalno upravljanje utiču na potrošnju.

Kako da smanjite zimski gubitak dometa
- Pretklimatizujte vozilo dok je priključeno. Ako automobil podržava tu funkciju, podesite zagrevanje kabine i baterije pre polaska dok je vozilo povezano na punjač. Tako deo energije za zagrevanje dolazi iz mreže, a ne iz baterije tokom vožnje. Dostupnost i upravljanje funkcijom zavise od modela. DOE preporuke za vožnju i punjenje na hladnoći

Kako pošteno porediti zimski domet dva EV-a
Za smisleno poređenje potrebni su isti ili jasno navedeni uslovi: spoljna temperatura, podešena temperatura kabine, da li je grejanje uključeno, tip grejača, način zagrevanja baterije, profil vožnje i metod merenja. Laboratorijski izračunat domet i domet iz vožnje nisu isto. AAA-ini rezultati i DOE-ova objašnjenja pokazuju zašto se tehnologija vozila i uslovi testa moraju uzeti u obzir, a ne samo jedan objavljeni procenat.
Greg Brannon, direktor automobilskog inženjerstva i istraživanja u AAA, rekao je u saopštenju od 1. maja 2026: “EVs are efficient in moderate temperatures but lose significant range in the cold.”
