You can watch YouTube on a Samsung Family Hub refrigerator through its Internet app, a dedicated YouTube app if available for your model and region, or Smart View screen mirroring. Start with the Internet app: connect the fridge to Wi-Fi, open the browser, and go to https://www.youtube.com.
Choose a way to watch YouTube

Open YouTube in the Internet app
- Connect the refrigerator to Wi-Fi. On the refrigerator, open Home > Settings > Connections > Wi-Fi, select your network, and enter its password. These menu steps are from Samsung India and may vary with model or locale. Samsung India’s guide.
- Open the Internet app. Enter
https://www.youtube.comin the address bar and select a video thumbnail to begin playback. - Use the playback controls. Samsung’s guide lists play/pause, skip back and forward, and volume controls.
Add YouTube to the Entertainment screen
Samsung India’s instructions say to swipe left twice from the Home screen and look for the YouTube icon. If it is missing, open YouTube in the Internet app, choose Add to Home Screen, optionally rename the shortcut, and select Done. This creates a shortcut to the website; it does not install the dedicated app.
Check whether the dedicated app is available
Samsung announced on June 26, 2024, that a dedicated YouTube app would be added with a Family Hub software update. The announcement says the enhancement is available for Family Hub models from 2017 onward, but also notes that content services vary by region and can change without notice. That model boundary does not guarantee the app is present on every eligible refrigerator.

Check whether your refrigerator has a software update available and whether YouTube appears after updating. If the app is not offered, use the Internet app or Smart View instead. Samsung’s announcement.

Mirror YouTube with Smart View
From a Samsung phone or tablet
- Connect the mobile device and Family Hub refrigerator to the same Wi-Fi network.
- On the phone or tablet, select Smart View and choose the Family Hub refrigerator.
- Start screen mirroring, then allow the connection on the refrigerator when prompted.
- Open YouTube on the mobile device and play a video.
From a Samsung TV
Samsung US also documents mirroring from supported Samsung TVs. Check its supported-TV guidance for the applicable model list and connection steps. If your TV is not listed, Samsung advises checking the TV model and Wi-Fi connection.

YouTube is missing from the Entertainment screen
Open YouTube in the Internet app and add its page to the Home screen using the shortcut steps above. The shortcut and the dedicated app are separate options.

The dedicated app is not available
Check for an available Family Hub software update. Availability can depend on the refrigerator model and region; Samsung’s announcement does not promise access on every unit.
A video will not play
- Check that the refrigerator is connected to Wi-Fi, then try another video.
- If the browser route fails, try the dedicated app if it is available, or mirror YouTube from a supported device using Smart View.
- If problems continue, the cause may be browser or service compatibility rather than the shortcut itself. Samsung’s Korea browser guidance notes that speed can depend on Wi-Fi conditions and that Flash Player or other plugins may not be supported. Samsung Korea browser guidance.
Samsung documented a YouTube playback interruption on some Family Hub refrigerators after a YouTube server-function change in September 2019. Its then-suggested desktop-mode workaround was historical guidance, not a confirmed fix for current playback errors. Samsung’s historical troubleshooting entry.
