Your Debt Is Paid is a dark fantasy horror roguelike announced for PC by Black Lantern Collective on October 2, 2026. Developed by Chris Miluski, also known as cmski, and published by Black Lantern Collective, Your Debt Is Paid is presented as a roguelike dungeon crawler with automatic battles. The player enters monster-infested dungeons to gather Blood and repay an enigmatic captor. The publisher says failing to meet the escalating debt risks permanent death.
The game’s reveal trailer frames the experience as a forgotten 1990s cartridge, with detailed character art, CRT effects, and dark fantasy horror styling. That is a presentation concept; the announcement does not establish that a physical cartridge edition is planned.
How does the Blood-and-debt system work?
Blood serves two competing purposes. You can reserve it to meet the captor’s growing repayment demand, or spend it on stat improvements and items that may help you survive deeper dungeon runs. That makes every upgrade a tradeoff: immediate strength may improve your chances in combat, but it leaves less Blood available for the debt.

The publisher also describes retreating or pressing on for another battle as consequential run decisions. The announcement does not give exact debt amounts, payment thresholds, or a detailed account of how retreat affects a run, so those mechanics are not yet fully specified.
What kind of game is it if combat is automatic?
Black Lantern Collective says battles resolve automatically, while the player focuses on decisions and build choices. The announced build ingredients include races, classes, relics, and enhancements. In practical terms, the strategy described so far is less about issuing moment-to-moment combat commands and more about choosing how to develop a character and manage Blood between fights.
