You can set YouTube’s Shorts feed limit to 0 minutes in the mobile app. It can hide the Shorts section from the main feed, but it does not remove every Short from YouTube or create a block you cannot dismiss.
How to set the Shorts feed limit to zero
- Sign in to the YouTube mobile app.
- Tap You, then Settings.
- Tap Time management.
- Choose Shorts feed limit, then select 0. YouTube’s official instructions list zero as an available limit.
- If the feed does not change right away, close and reopen the app.
What the zero-minute setting changes
The setting limits the Shorts feed experience; it is not an option to uninstall Shorts or erase them from YouTube. Tom’s Guide reports that zero can remove the Shorts section from the main feed, while individual Shorts may still show up in search or recommendations. Gadgets 360 and Android Authority also note that Shorts may remain accessible through places such as Subscriptions, shared links, or direct access. The precise surfaces can vary by account and app experience.
The limit is a reminder, not a hard block
YouTube describes this control as a time limit with a reminder: “When your set time limit is reached in the Shorts feed, a message will appear reminding you.” Its instructions also say you can dismiss or ignore the limit when the reminder appears. The setting adds friction, but it is easy to override.

If you cannot find the zero option
The feature may not be available to every account at the same time. Tom’s Guide describes availability as a gradual rollout and says an app refresh may be needed. Check for a YouTube app update, then return to You → Settings → Time management → Shorts feed limit later. YouTube’s help page does not provide a country-by-country rollout schedule.
