XP Power announced the FLXPro configurable AC-DC power-supply series, including the FLX1K3 chassis-mount model. XP Power rates the FLX1K3 for up to 1.3 kW under high-line input conditions and 1 kW under low-line conditions. It is a digitally controlled, configurable supply for equipment designers—not a general-purpose consumer adapter. The published ratings and performance figures below are vendor claims; the reviewed product materials do not provide independent test results.
What are FLXPro and FLX1K3?
FLXPro is XP Power’s series name; FLX1K3 identifies its 1.3-kW model. XP Power describes the FLX1K3 as a compact, 1U chassis-mount AC-DC supply with a digital architecture covering its input and output stages. The company positions the series for engineering applications such as healthcare equipment, industrial systems, semiconductor manufacturing, analytical instrumentation, automation, renewable energy systems, and robotics. Those are intended application areas, not blanket confirmation that a particular configuration meets every system’s requirements.
XP Power’s FLX1K3 product page lists approximate dimensions of 254 × 89 × 41 mm. The launch announcement gives the more precise dimensions as 254.0 × 88.9 × 40.6 mm. Check the latest mechanical drawing and installation requirements when planning an enclosure.
How do its power rating and configurable outputs work?
XP Power’s 2025 launch announcement specifies up to 1.3 kW at high line and 1 kW at low line. These are not interchangeable ratings: confirm which input conditions apply to the intended installation and check the datasheet for the exact operating limits of the proposed configuration.

The announcement describes a customer-configurable arrangement with up to four output modules, with selectable outputs from 9 VDC to 66 VDC. The number of modules and selected outputs determine the available combination; the headline voltage range alone does not establish that every voltage, current, or combination can be supplied simultaneously. XP Power notes that exact outputs, series or parallel arrangements, and safety constraints depend on configuration. Review the current datasheet and confirm the intended arrangement with the manufacturer.
What digital features does XP Power list?
- PMBus over I²C: An interface for communicating with the supply in systems that support it.
- XPInsight: XP Power’s configuration and diagnostic tool.
- Black Box Snapshot: A feature XP Power says can help examine system status around shutdown events.
These features can help engineers configure and troubleshoot an integrated power system. Confirm interface requirements, supported commands, and tool compatibility against the current technical documentation before designing them into a product.

What performance figures has XP Power published?
XP Power’s 2025 announcement claims power density of up to 23.2 W/in³ and efficiency of up to 93%. Its current product page instead states efficiency of up to 92%. The available official materials do not reconcile the difference, so the figures should be treated as source-specific vendor claims rather than independent measurements or a guaranteed result for every configuration.
How should engineers assess whether it fits?
Because FLX1K3 is configurable, selection requires more than matching the advertised wattage. Evaluate the complete power path and the end equipment’s constraints:

- Mechanical and thermal fit: Check the 1U form factor, dimensions, chassis clearances, airflow, and cooling needs in the actual enclosure.
- Control and diagnostics: Verify that PMBus over I²C and XPInsight suit the system’s interfaces and engineering workflow; determine whether Black Box Snapshot addresses the required diagnostic use.
- End-product compliance: Validate safety and other applicable requirements for the finished equipment and its intended use. A component’s description as suitable for a market does not certify a particular end product.
