XMG has launched two 18-inch gaming laptops: the PRO 18 (M26), with an RTX 5070 Ti and 300 Hz display, and the lower-priced PRO 18 VE (M26), with an RTX 5070 and 180 Hz display. Both use 2,560 × 1,600 IPS panels and share a chassis; launch prices were €3,299 and €2,849, respectively, including 19% VAT. XMG says both are available through Bestware, but current prices and stock should be checked with the seller.
What distinguishes the PRO 18 from the PRO 18 VE?
The key difference is not the screen size or resolution: both models have an 18-inch, 16:10 IPS display at 2,560 × 1,600, with a stated brightness of 500 nits and full sRGB and DCI-P3 coverage. The standard PRO 18 raises the refresh rate to 300 Hz and pairs it with an RTX 5070 Ti. The VE uses a 180 Hz panel and an RTX 5070.

The RTX 5070 Ti model costs €450 more at the announced starting prices. Notebookcheck describes the GPU limits as 115 W plus up to 25 W Dynamic Boost for the Ti, and 100 W plus 15 W for the RTX 5070; those are power-limit descriptions, not comparative frame-rate results. The specifications and prices are from XMG’s launch announcement; Notebookcheck also reports the launch configurations and display distinction in its October 6, 2026 launch coverage.

XMG’s listed graphics power limits indicate how much power the laptop can allocate to each GPU under its stated maximum conditions; they do not establish the gaming performance gap between the machines. The launch coverage and XMG materials cited here do not provide independent gaming benchmarks, noise measurements, or battery-life tests. Treat performance and acoustics as unverified until independent testing is available.

- EXPANSIVE 18-INCH QHD+ DISPLAY: Enjoy incredible screen real estate with an 18" QHD+ (2560 x 1600) anti-glare display, offering vibrant color reproduction, crisp detail, and plenty of room for multi-window productivity.
The faster refresh rate is most relevant to games capable of producing high frame rates. It does not by itself guarantee that a game will run at 300 frames per second. The PRO 18 VE’s 180 Hz panel still offers a high refresh rate, while its lower launch price may matter more to buyers who do not need the Ti model’s GPU tier or 300 Hz ceiling.
What do the two laptops share?
XMG describes the PRO 18 and PRO 18 VE as sharing the same chassis and differing principally in processor, graphics card, and display. The enclosure measures 400 × 291.5 × 24.9–26.5 mm, has an aluminium display lid, and weighs 2.82 kg or 2.9 kg depending on configuration. Each has a screw-secured, replaceable 99.8 Wh battery. XMG also says it added a third fan dedicated to RAM cooling compared with the XMG PRO 16 (2025).

Memory and storage upgrades
The platform has two SO-DIMM slots and two M.2 SSD slots; the primary SSD slot uses PCIe 5.0. XMG lists platform support for up to 128 GB DDR5-6400, including CSO-DIMMs. That maximum should not be confused with current ordering options: XMG says its configurator is presently limited to configurations up to 2 × 64 GB DDR5-5600 because high-capacity DRAM modules are in short supply.

Which model makes more sense?
- Choose the PRO 18 if you want the RTX 5070 Ti configuration and the 300 Hz display, and the €450 launch-price difference is acceptable.
- Choose the PRO 18 VE if the RTX 5070 and 180 Hz panel meet your needs and the lower launch price is the priority.
- Wait for independent testing if your decision depends on actual frame rates, fan noise, or battery runtime; those results are not established by the launch specifications.
