The Redmi Turbo 5 is the stronger on-paper choice for chipset, AMOLED display, main-camera stabilization and charging speed. The TECNO POVA 8 5G counters with a larger stated battery, a larger 144Hz display and a lower observed India listing price. In listings reported by 91mobiles on October 4, 2026, the Redmi was ₹41,999 at Amazon and the POVA was ₹29,999 at Flipkart—a ₹12,000 gap. Those are retailer observations, not guaranteed current prices or confirmed like-for-like configurations.

Technical specifications are from Xiaomi India and TECNO Indonesia. The listing observations are from 91mobiles. POVA extended memory includes storage used as memory expansion; it is not all physical RAM.
What the ₹12,000 observed price gap means
The reported India listings put the POVA 8 5G ₹12,000 below the Redmi Turbo 5. Because one amount was shown at Amazon and the other at Flipkart, and the comparison may not match RAM and storage configurations, the gap is a snapshot rather than a definitive measure of the phones’ price difference. Retail prices, stock and discounts can change; compare the exact variant and final checkout price in your market.

Which phone is better for performance, screen and cameras?
Performance: Redmi has the stronger listed chipset
The Dimensity 8500-Ultra’s stated process and maximum clock speed are higher than the Dimensity 7100 5G’s, making the Redmi the stronger specification-sheet pick. Those figures do not establish gaming frame rates or sustained performance: no independent, controlled performance test is available here. Choose on actual workload and credible testing rather than treating the chipset specifications as a benchmark result.
Display: choose AMOLED or higher refresh rate
The Redmi offers an AMOLED panel at 2756 × 1268, while the POVA has a larger 6.76-inch display with a higher 144Hz refresh rate but a 2344 × 1080 resolution. The Redmi is the more compelling listed option if AMOLED and resolution matter most; the POVA’s larger panel and faster refresh specification may suit buyers who prioritize screen size and refresh rate. Specifications alone do not establish brightness, color accuracy or how smooth either phone feels in use.

Cameras: Redmi lists OIS and an ultrawide camera
Xiaomi specifies optical image stabilization (OIS) on the Redmi’s 50MP Sony IMX882 main camera and includes an 8MP ultrawide. TECNO lists a 50MP autofocus rear camera with an Alive Matrix Display. The Redmi offers more detail about its rear-camera hardware and adds an ultrawide lens, but those specifications do not prove better photos or video. No comparative camera test is established here.
Battery and charging: capacity is not runtime
TECNO lists an 8000mAh battery, larger in stated capacity than the Redmi’s typical 7540mAh silicon-carbon battery. That does not by itself prove longer battery life: screen, software, signal conditions and workload also affect runtime, and no controlled battery comparison is available here.

Xiaomi lists 100W wired charging and 27W wired reverse charging; TECNO lists 45W Super Charge. The Redmi has the higher stated wired charging power and reverse charging, but wattage alone cannot tell you how long a full charge takes. The two manufacturers’ claims are not a direct charge-time test.

The manufacturer pages list Android 16-based software: HyperOS 3 for the Redmi and HiOS 16 for the POVA. The official specification pages do not establish a comparable update-support commitment for both models. 91mobiles lists two years of OS updates and three years of security updates for the POVA, but there is no equivalent Redmi duration in that comparison. Verify update terms with the manufacturer for the exact country and variant before treating support length as a deciding factor.

The Xiaomi specification page is for India; TECNO’s cited specification page is for Indonesia. Do not assume either page establishes the price, warranty, exact retail configuration or supported network bands in another country. Xiaomi notes that 5G band availability depends on local operators. Confirm the precise model’s band support with your carrier, especially if importing either phone. Xiaomi also says package contents can vary by region; its India listing includes a protective case and pre-applied screen protector.

Which one should you buy?
- Choose the Redmi Turbo 5 on paper if you value its listed Dimensity 8500-Ultra chipset, AMOLED display, OIS-equipped main camera, ultrawide camera or 100W wired charging.
- Consider the POVA 8 5G if its current price is lower for an equivalent storage variant and you prioritize its stated 8000mAh battery, larger display or 144Hz refresh rate.
- Before ordering either phone, confirm the exact RAM and storage variant, local warranty, current price and carrier compatibility. Real-world battery life, camera results and sustained performance are not established by the specification comparison.
