The Redmi Turbo 5 and POCO X8 Pro are close on paper. The clearest spec difference is battery capacity: Digit reports 7,540mAh for the Redmi Turbo 5, while Xiaomi’s official POCO page lists 6,500mAh typical for the X8 Pro. Both phones are listed with the same chipset, a similar 6.59-inch 120Hz AMOLED display, and the same broad camera layout. On price, Digit’s June 16, 2026 India launch prices put the Redmi Turbo 5 ₹6,000 above the POCO X8 Pro. Later retail listings show different figures, so the price gap you see depends on the date, market and seller.
Specs side by side
The table below lists each value with its source. Where a source does not state a figure for the Redmi Turbo 5, the cell says so rather than borrowing the POCO number.
| Factor | Redmi Turbo 5 | POCO X8 Pro | What it means |
|---|---|---|---|
| Processor | MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra (Digit) | MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra (Digit) | Same listed chipset. No controlled performance comparison was found. |
| Display | 6.59-inch 1.5K AMOLED, 120Hz (Digit) | 6.59-inch AMOLED, 2756×1268, up to 120Hz for supported apps (Digit; Xiaomi) | Near-identical headline specs. The POCO refresh rate is limited to supported apps. |
| Rear cameras | 50MP main and 8MP ultra-wide (Digit) | 50MP main (Sony IMX882) and 8MP ultra-wide (Xiaomi) | Same layout on paper. Megapixel counts do not decide image quality. |
| Optical stabilisation | Not stated in the sources reviewed | OIS on the main camera in the UAE regional official specification (Xiaomi) | Confirm OIS for your region before assuming it. |
| Front camera | 20MP (Digit) | 20MP (Digit) | Same listed resolution. |
| Battery capacity | 7,540mAh (Digit) | 6,500mAh typical (Xiaomi) | The Redmi has the larger stated figure. The two figures are not measured runtime. |
| Wired charging | 100W (Digit) | Up to 100W, PPS-compatible adapters (Xiaomi) | Charger inclusion and exact behaviour vary by market. |
| Reverse wired charging | Not stated in the sources reviewed | Up to 27W (Xiaomi) | Only the POCO figure is confirmed. |
Battery and charging
Battery capacity
Xiaomi labels the X8 Pro figure as “typical” capacity, which is the manufacturer’s rating for the cell rather than a measured result. Digit’s 7,540mAh figure for the Redmi Turbo 5 is reported without that qualifier in the coverage reviewed. A larger rated capacity usually means more stored energy, but real-world endurance also depends on the display, software, network conditions and how the phone is used. No independent battery-runtime test comparing the two phones was found, so this article does not claim either phone lasts longer in daily use.

“POCO X8 Pro supports 100W PPS universal charging protocol, bringing broad compatibility with various fast chargers for quick power top-ups anytime.”
That is manufacturer wording. Xiaomi presents 100W as the maximum adapter output and notes that actual output can vary. Its stated 48-minute full-charge result comes from POCO Internal Labs, using the 100W in-box charger, screen off, Top speed mode and an ambient temperature of about 25°C. Treat it as a controlled result, not a guaranteed everyday charge time.

Xiaomi also says buyers should check whether the power adapter is included with their local seller, so do not assume it is in every box. For the Redmi Turbo 5, Digit reports 100W wired charging, but the sources reviewed do not describe reverse charging.

Digit lists both phones with the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra, so on the specification sheet the processing hardware is the same. No controlled benchmark, thermal test or sustained-load comparison between the two was found, so differences in speed or heat under load cannot be established from these sources.

The screens are also close. Both are reported at 6.59 inches with AMOLED panels and up to 120Hz refresh. For the POCO X8 Pro, Xiaomi specifies a 2756×1268 resolution and says the 120Hz rate applies to supported apps, so a buyer who depends on high refresh rate in a specific app should check that app’s support.
Cameras
On paper, both phones use a 50MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide and a 20MP front camera. Xiaomi identifies the POCO X8 Pro’s main sensor as the Sony IMX882. The sources reviewed do not name the Redmi Turbo 5’s main sensor, so a sensor-level comparison is not possible. Resolution figures alone do not establish which camera produces better photos; sensor size, processing and tuning all matter, and none of them was tested here.

Quick Recap
How to compare prices before you buy
- Fix the market first. Prices quoted here are for India. Prices in other countries can differ because of local taxes, warranty terms and availability.
- Match the variant. Compare the same RAM and storage configuration on both phones, since listings often differ by configuration.
- Check the seller and stock on the day you buy. Note the retailer and the date next to every price you record.
- Add the cost of extras. Confirm whether the adapter is in the box, and check the warranty and any local service coverage.
Which one to choose
- Choose the Redmi Turbo 5 if the larger stated battery capacity matters most to you and you find it available at a price close to the POCO in your market. Confirm its charger and any reverse-charging needs before buying.
- Choose the POCO X8 Pro if the lower India launch price matters, if you want the confirmed 27W reverse charging and 100W PPS charging, or if you need a confirmed OIS specification for your region.
- Do not decide on specs alone. The chipset, display and camera counts are close, so price, stock, warranty and the variant you can get are likely to decide the purchase.
Limits of this comparison
- Redmi Turbo 5 specifications come from Digit’s reporting. Xiaomi’s own published Redmi Turbo 5 specifications are not reflected here.
- No hands-on testing, battery-life measurement or benchmark was conducted for this article.
- Prices change quickly and differ by market, so use the figures above as dated examples rather than current offers.
- Feature availability, such as OIS, can vary by region and software version.
