There is no single winner. On the listed specifications, the Xiaomi Redmi Turbo 5 leads on chipset benchmark score and battery capacity. The Nothing Phone (4a) Pro leads on screen size, refresh rate and camera hardware, because it adds a dedicated periscope telephoto lens. Price often decides the value question, and the gap depends on your country, your storage variant and the date you check. The figures below come from third-party comparison listings and Nothing’s own launch and product pages. Where official Xiaomi confirmation of the Redmi’s details was not available, this article says so.

Performance
The Redmi Turbo 5 uses a MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra, and the Nothing Phone (4a) Pro uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4. 91mobiles reports AnTuTu totals of 2,135,669 for the Redmi and 1,411,440 for the Nothing, a gap of about 724,000 points. These are that publication’s reported results, not tests run by this site and not a manufacturer-published benchmark.
AnTuTu totals move with software version, thermal settings and test conditions, so the gap on one reading should not be treated as a guaranteed difference in everyday speed. The score points to a stronger chipset on paper. How the two phones compare in sustained gaming, camera processing or long sessions is not established by the sources behind this comparison.

Display and handling
The Nothing has the larger screen, at 6.83 inches against 6.59 inches, and the higher listed refresh rate, at 144Hz against 120Hz. Both use AMOLED panels. The Nothing is also listed as slightly heavier (210g against 204g) and thinner (7.9mm against 8.18mm). A larger screen suits people who watch video and read a lot; a smaller one is easier to use one-handed. The sources do not state whether either phone switches refresh rates adaptively, so 144Hz and 120Hz should be read as maximum listed rates.
Peak brightness and glass protection for either model are not stated in the sources behind this comparison. Check them on the manufacturer’s regional specification page before you buy.

Cameras and the zoom claim
The Redmi Turbo 5 is listed with a 50MP main camera and an 8MP ultrawide, with no telephoto lens. The Nothing adds a 50MP periscope lens to a 50MP main and an 8MP ultrawide. A periscope lens is the hardware that gives a phone a dedicated optical telephoto path, so this is the clearest camera difference between the two.
Nothing’s product page uses the wording “World’s first 140x ultra zoom*”. That is manufacturer marketing with an asterisk, and the phrasing does not establish optical zoom at 140x. Read the footnote on Nothing’s page for what the figure covers, and compare the periscope’s optical reach rather than the headline number.

Battery and charging
Gadgets 360 lists a 7,540mAh battery and 100W wired charging for the Redmi, and a 5,400mAh battery with 50W wired charging for the Nothing. Capacity is not the same as endurance. Screen rate, processor load and software tuning all change how long a charge lasts, and the sources do not include an endurance test for either phone.
The Redmi battery and charging figures lack official Xiaomi corroboration in the sources examined, so treat them as provisional until they are checked against Xiaomi’s regional product page.

Current prices and the Redmi price gap

Xiaomi’s official price for the Redmi Turbo 5 was not confirmed in the sources behind this comparison. A 91mobiles listing that references Amazon showed ₹41,999 for the Redmi and ₹46,498 for the Nothing in India. Those are retailer-referenced third-party figures, not verified official or current prices, but they illustrate a gap of about ₹4,500 in that snapshot. Third-party sites also disagree on the Redmi’s launch date, so this article gives no launch date for it.
Durability and software support
Gadgets 360 lists an IP69K rating for the Redmi and an IP65 rating for the Nothing. IP69K covers high-pressure, high-temperature water jets. IP65 covers low-pressure water jets. Neither rating is a drop-resistance guarantee. The Redmi rating comes from a single third-party listing and has not been confirmed on an official Xiaomi sheet.
Software update commitments for either phone were not established in the sources behind this comparison. Update policies vary by brand and market, so confirm the number of years promised for your region before you buy.
Recommended Free Tools
Compatibility checks before buying
- Confirm the 4G and 5G bands your carrier uses are supported on the exact model you are buying.
- Check NFC support if you rely on contactless payments or transit cards.
- Confirm the warranty, the local service network and whether the unit is an official regional model or an import.
- Check whether a charger is in the box. The sources did not state this for either phone.
- Match the RAM and storage on the listing to the configuration whose price you are comparing.
Which one to buy
- Choose the Redmi Turbo 5 if battery capacity, charging speed and the listed chipset benchmark matter most, and if its local price is clearly lower for the same storage.
- Choose the Nothing Phone (4a) Pro if you want the larger 144Hz screen, a periscope telephoto lens, or the 12GB + 256GB configuration.
- If the local price gap is small, the Nothing’s larger display and camera hardware are the stronger reasons to pay the difference. If the gap is large, the Redmi’s listed battery and performance figures become harder to ignore.
Check both prices on the same day, in the same market, for the same RAM and storage configuration before deciding.
