The reviewed ROM listing associates the Xiaomi Redmi Note 17 5G and POCO M8 Power with the codename mist, but that alone is not enough to choose a firmware file. Confirm your handset’s exact model identifier, installed region and current build before downloading. The listings below are third-party page claims—not independent verification that a file is suitable for your phone or an official Xiaomi installation procedure.
Identify the correct Redmi Note 17 5G or POCO M8 Power firmware
MiROM lists the Redmi Note 17 5G and POCO M8 Power under codename mist. A separate GSM Helpful guide also uses that codename and gives example regional model identifiers, but those identifiers have not been verified against Xiaomi documentation. Check the model information on your own device and consult authoritative, device-specific support before using a package. MiROM’s mist listing and the GSM Helpful guide are third-party references, not substitutes for that check.
- Match the handset’s exact model identifier; shared branding or a shared codename does not establish that every package is compatible.
- Identify the installed region and full build suffix. Do not choose by the leading OS version number alone.
- Choose the matching region and package type, then check the current instructions and source for your specific model before installation.
What firmware is listed, and what does “latest” mean?
MiROM’s Global listing showed build OS3.0.304.0.WPUMIXM, labeled HyperOS 3.1 and Android 16, with a listing update timestamp of 2026-09-28. This is a dated Global listing claim, not proof that it is the newest build for every region or still current when you download it.

Do not treat every site’s region label as settled. XimiTime identifies its page as an India ROM page while displaying OS3.0.311.0.WPUCNXM, a code MiROM associates with its China listing. Because those claims conflict, the page does not establish that this is the latest India ROM. XimiTime’s listing

For the Global build above, MiROM reported a Recovery ZIP size of 4.7 GB and MD5 372c599d17b95c30fc50ebe2e2a74088; it reported a Fastboot TGZ size of 8.1 GB and MD5 c4450c4e168052ca9de1211306d3beff. These are MiROM’s 2026 listing details, not independently measured sizes or computed checksums. The listing links to files hosted on Xiaomi domains, but that does not independently validate the files, checksums or official support status. Will flashing erase your data?
The GSM Helpful guide says its Fastboot process resets the device. Treat that as a real wipe risk for the described workflow: back up important data before proceeding, and do not assume your own installation will preserve it. The reviewed sources do not establish that Recovery installation is data-preserving in every case.

Can you flash a ROM from another region?
The reviewed listings do not establish that cross-region flashing is safe or supported. Match the package to the installed region unless current authoritative instructions for your exact model explicitly say otherwise. A similar device name, codename or Android version is not sufficient evidence of cross-region compatibility.

- Confirm the handset. Check its exact model identifier in device information or authoritative support records; do not rely on the product name alone.
- Confirm the codename. Use
mistonly if reliable information for your handset supports that identification. - Read the installed build. Record the full version string and region suffix, then compare it with the package listing.
- Select the package deliberately. Choose Recovery or Fastboot based on the supported procedure for your model, not merely the file size or format.
- Verify the source and file. Prefer authoritative Xiaomi instructions and downloads. If a source publishes a checksum, compare it with the downloaded file; the figures above have not been independently checked.
- Protect your data and connection. Back up before any operation that could reset the phone. If a PC connection is required, use a suitable data-capable cable; check the handset and computer connector compatibility rather than assuming a particular connector.
- Read current instructions before unlocking or flashing. The reviewed sources do not settle official unlock eligibility or the supported flashing workflow for each model and region.
