The Redmi Note 15 Pro+ 5G has the stronger official spec sheet for camera hardware, charging speed and a published software-support promise. The Motorola Edge 70 Pro 5G is listed with a faster 144Hz display and roughly double the benchmark scores on a third-party comparison page. That same page showed Amazon India offers of ₹39,490 for the Xiaomi and ₹38,665 for the Motorola, a gap of ₹825. Those prices are not official and may already have changed, so treat the price line as a starting point for checking, not a buying price.

Quick comparison

Xiaomi’s figures come from its official India specifications page. Motorola’s figures come from a 91mobiles comparison page, because no official Motorola specification sheet was available to verify against. Those Motorola cells should be read as secondary-source data until Motorola confirms them.

AnTuTu (reported) 1,055,895 2,194,258
Amazon India offer (reported, volatile) ₹39,490 ₹38,665

Performance: Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 against Dimensity 8500 Extreme

The benchmark gap on the comparison page is large. Motorola’s Geekbench multi-core score of 6,864 is about twice the Xiaomi’s 3,272, and its AnTuTu score of 2,194,258 is about twice the Xiaomi’s 1,055,895. These are publisher-reported figures. The page does not state test conditions, number of runs, memory configuration or software build for either phone, so the numbers should not be read as an independent ranking.

Neither set of sources reviewed reports sustained-load or thermal results. A high peak score does not show whether a phone holds that speed through a long gaming session. For everyday use, the spec sheets alone cannot separate the two chips.

Display: 120Hz against 144Hz

The Motorola’s 144Hz panel refreshes faster than the Xiaomi’s 120Hz panel, which matters most in fast scrolling and in games that run at high frame rates. The benefit only appears when an app or game actually runs at the panel’s top rate, and the comparison page does not show how often that happens.

Xiaomi’s page is the only source here that gives a brightness figure, stating a peak of up to 3200 nits. That is Xiaomi’s own claim, and no matching figure for the Motorola was available to compare.

Cameras: 200MP against dual 50MP

Redmi Note 15 Pro+ 5G

The main camera is a 200MP sensor with f/1.7 aperture and optical image stabilisation (OIS), paired with an 8MP ultrawide and a 32MP front camera. OIS is the feature that most directly helps steady shots in low light and video, and it is confirmed on Xiaomi’s page for the main camera only.

Edge 70 Pro 5G

The Motorola is listed with 50MP rear main and ultrawide cameras and a 50MP autofocus selfie camera. Whether its main camera has OIS is not stated in the sources reviewed.

Megapixel count is a weak guide to image quality. Sensor size, pixel binning, lens quality and image processing all affect the final photo. The sources here contain no comparison photos or camera tests, so this article does not rank the two cameras on image quality. On specifications alone, the Xiaomi offers a larger main-sensor resolution and confirmed OIS, while the Motorola offers a 50MP ultrawide, which is much higher than the Xiaomi’s 8MP.

Battery and charging

Both phones are listed with 6500mAh batteries. Xiaomi describes its figure as a typical capacity, so the rated value may vary slightly from unit to unit. Xiaomi’s box includes a 100W charger. The Motorola is listed with 90W charging, a figure from the secondary source. Charging time is not stated for either phone in the sources reviewed, so the wattage difference should not be read as a time difference.

Build and connectivity

Xiaomi lists IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings for the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ 5G. Xiaomi notes that these protections are tested under specific conditions and can decline with wear or damage, so they should not be treated as permanent protection. Water and dust resistance for the Motorola is not stated in the sources reviewed, and no comparison can be drawn there. NFC and eSIM are confirmed for the Xiaomi, with eSIM depending on region. The Motorola’s NFC and eSIM support are not stated in the sources reviewed.

Software and update support

Xiaomi’s India product page states “4 Years of OS + 6 Years of Security Updates.” That is Xiaomi’s own statement and has not been independently audited. The Motorola’s listed support of three OS years and five security years comes from the 91mobiles comparison page. Motorola’s official page was not verified, so the claim should be confirmed with Motorola directly before you rely on it.

The price difference and how far to trust it

The comparison page listed Amazon India offers of ₹39,490 for the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ 5G and ₹38,665 for the Motorola Edge 70 Pro 5G, a difference of ₹825 in the Motorola’s favour. Three limits apply. These are retailer listings, not official launch prices. They are not a confirmed checkout price. And the comparison page does not state which RAM and storage configuration each figure refers to, so the two prices may not be for matching models.

Before you buy, check the following:

  1. Open the Amazon India listing for each phone and note the RAM and storage configuration shown in the title or variant selector.
  2. Compare only the same configuration. If the Motorola’s 12GB model is the only one at ₹38,665, compare it against the Xiaomi’s 12GB/256GB variant.
  3. Confirm who the seller is, and read the warranty and delivery terms shown on the listing.
  4. Check Motorola’s official India site for its current price. The evidence reviewed here did not verify an official Motorola price.
  5. Recheck both prices on the day you buy. A ₹825 gap can change with a single coupon, a stock change or a seller switch.

Which phone to choose

  • Choose the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ 5G if the 200MP main camera with OIS, the 100W charger in the box, the published 4-year OS and 6-year security commitment, and the IP69K rating matter most to you, and you want the specifications that come directly from the manufacturer.
  • Choose the Motorola Edge 70 Pro 5G if a 144Hz display and the higher reported benchmark scores matter more to you, and the Motorola is the cheaper option for the same configuration at the time you buy. Confirm its specifications and update support with Motorola first, because those figures are secondary-source data.
  • If the configurations and prices are not matched, decide on the features you use every day: camera hardware and water protection favour the Xiaomi, while display refresh rate and benchmark speed favour the Motorola.

Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
