Its reviewed configuration also lists 100W wired charging and 27W reverse charging. These specifications make it the more compelling starting point if demanding apps, long time away from a charger, or charging speed matter most.

The Redmi uses a Dimensity 7400-Ultra and a 6,580mAh battery with 45W wired charging in TechRadar’s reviewed configuration. TechRadar’s reviewer described everyday performance as smooth but reported occasional frame drops during demanding Genshin Impact play. That is one reviewer’s experience, not a guarantee of how every game or unit will perform.

Camera specifications: 200MP versus 50MP
The Redmi’s headline distinction is its 200MP f/1.7 main camera, paired with an 8MP f/2.2 ultrawide. The POCO has a 50MP Light Fusion 600 main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), plus an 8MP ultrawide. The POCO’s Singapore specifications list rear video recording up to 4K at 30fps or 1080p at 60fps.
A higher megapixel count does not establish that the Redmi takes better photos. These specifications alone do not settle detail, low-light performance, motion handling, or video quality; the available comparison evidence does not provide a controlled head-to-head camera test. Choose based on the camera features you value, rather than megapixels alone.

Both reviewed phones have a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with 2772 × 1280 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. On these listed figures, neither has a clear size, resolution, or refresh-rate advantage. The provided comparison material does not establish a reliable brightness or panel-quality winner.
The Redmi is listed at 210g and the POCO at 218g, so the Redmi is the lighter of these configurations. PhoneArena lists IP69 for the Redmi and IP68 for the POCO, but regional ratings should be confirmed against the exact model. A rating difference is not, on its own, a reason to assume either phone is safe from every kind of water or dust exposure.

Configurations and software
Xiaomi’s global Redmi specifications list four combinations: 8GB RAM with 256GB or 512GB storage, and 12GB RAM with 256GB or 512GB storage. They use LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage. TechRadar’s POCO review lists 12GB RAM with either 256GB or 512GB storage. The base reviewed examples are therefore not memory-matched: the Redmi has 8GB RAM while the POCO has 12GB.
The global Redmi specifications list HyperOS 2; TechRadar’s POCO review identifies Android 16 with HyperOS 3. These are the versions reported for those sources and configurations. Check the local product listing for the software version supplied with the phone.

For a current decision, check both phones from sellers serving the same country on the same day. Match storage and, where possible, RAM; compare the final price after tax and account for coupons, contracts, trade-ins, or bundles. Label the price as a standard listing, launch price, or promotional checkout total rather than treating unlike figures as a fixed difference.
Which one should you buy?
Choose the POCO X8 Pro Max if
- You prioritize the stronger processor class on the published specifications.
- You want the larger stated battery and faster listed wired charging.
- You value reverse charging and your local configuration supports the listed 27W figure.
Choose the Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G if
- You want a phone with a 200MP main-camera specification, while recognizing that megapixels alone do not establish image quality.
