The Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G has the larger battery, faster wired charging, the higher-megapixel main camera and the stronger water-resistance claim. The Nothing Phone (3a) Lite has its own design, a microSD slot and, at launch, a lower UK and Australian entry price. Neither phone wins on every point, and no current price gap can be stated from the available reports, because the prices come from different dates, markets and storage tiers.

This comparison covers the 5G version of the Redmi and the standard Nothing Phone (3a) Lite. Xiaomi publishes separate pages for the Redmi Note 15 Pro and the Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G, so the variant matters for both specifications and ratings.

Which Redmi Note 15 Pro this comparison covers

Xiaomi lists the Redmi Note 15 Pro (4G) and the Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G as separate products. The 4G page lists 4G, 3G and 2G connectivity, IP65 protection and HyperOS 2, and notes that connectivity bands, NFC and box contents can vary by market. The 5G page describes a 200MP main camera with a 1/1.4-inch sensor and a higher ingress rating. Most of the detailed figures in the published reviews and comparison pages refer to the 5G model, so this article uses it as the Redmi.

The reports reviewed here do not give a full comparable specification sheet for the 4G model, so it is not compared line by line below. Its IP65 rating applies only to that model and should not be assumed for the 5G phone.

Display

Both phones use a 120Hz AMOLED panel, so the choice between them does not turn on smoothness of scrolling. The Redmi has the larger screen, while the Nothing has a lower resolution figure in the Gadgets360 data. The 6.7-inch and 6.77-inch figures for the Nothing are both reported, so treat the exact size as approximate until you check the manufacturer’s specification for the model you are buying.

Cameras

The Redmi’s 200MP main sensor is the headline number, but megapixels are not a picture-quality test. Pixel binning, sensor size, lens quality and processing all affect the final image, and the reports reviewed do not include side-by-side photo tests of these two phones. The Nothing’s 50MP main camera with optical and electronic stabilisation, plus its ultrawide and macro lenses, is a more complete rear array on paper, while the Redmi lists a larger main sensor. Neither source establishes which phone takes better photos.

Battery and charging

The Redmi’s 6,580mAh battery and 45W wired charging are both larger than the Nothing’s 5,000mAh and 33W figures. Battery capacity does not equal measured endurance, because screen size, chipset efficiency and software all change how long a battery lasts. The Nothing’s charger is sold separately, so budget for one if you do not already own a compatible 33W charger. The Redmi has no wireless charging.

Durability ratings

The two phones use different ratings, so compare them carefully:

  • Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G: Xiaomi advertises IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K resistance. It also says the phone passed a TÜV SÜD test of two metres of water for 24 hours. These are manufacturer claims under specific test conditions.
  • Nothing Phone (3a) Lite: Android Central reports IP54, which protects against dust and splashes but is a lower rating than the Redmi’s.
  • Redmi Note 15 Pro (4G): Xiaomi lists IP65, which does not apply to the 5G model.

Ingress ratings describe how a phone behaves in a test. They do not mean the phone can be used underwater, and liquid damage outside test conditions is generally not covered by warranty.

Software and update promises

Both phones run Android 15 with the manufacturer’s interface. TechRadar reports that the Redmi’s HyperOS 2 gets four years of OS updates and six years of security patches, but that support terms can vary by region, so confirm them with Xiaomi for your country. The reviewer also criticised the preinstalled apps and notification handling, and reported occasional frame drops in Genshin Impact. Those points reflect one reviewer’s experience.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Nothing promises three major Android upgrades and six years of security patches for the Phone (3a) Lite. The two promises are worded differently, so compare the length of support against the number of major Android versions you expect to use.

Storage and expandability

The Nothing has a microSD slot, which lets you add storage later. The reports reviewed do not say whether the Redmi 5G has one. Storage tiers also differ between sources. 91mobiles lists 128GB internal storage for both phones, but TechRadar’s UK and Australian coverage lists 256GB as the lowest Redmi 5G option. Check the storage of the specific listing before comparing prices.

Performance and endurance figures

91mobiles reports a Geekbench multi-core score of 2,967 for the Nothing and 2,938 for the Redmi, along with battery-test estimates of 13h 06m and 14h 22m. The page does not describe its test method, and it does not clearly say which battery result belongs to which phone. Treat these numbers as indicative only. Neither source establishes that one phone is faster or lasts longer in everyday use.

Price difference

A single price difference cannot be stated responsibly, because the reports use different markets, storage tiers and dates. The following figures are the ones published, not current prices.

TechRadar also reported that the Redmi 5G was not sold directly in the US at review time, and that the Nothing had no US availability at the time of its coverage.

India listing snapshot

91mobiles displayed ₹31,999 for the Redmi and ₹28,200 for the Nothing when its comparison page was accessed in 2026. Those are Amazon-linked listings whose variant and storage were not confirmed on the page, and prices change often. Check both live listings for the same model and storage before buying.

Why no single price gap is stated

A reliable price comparison needs four matching inputs: the country, the exact Redmi variant (4G or 5G), the storage tier and the current price from a named seller. The reports reviewed do not provide all four for the same date, so this article does not state a current difference.

Which one to buy

Choose the Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G if you want the bigger battery, faster wired charging, the larger screen and the stronger ingress rating, and you can accept the preinstalled software. It is the stronger spec sheet in most categories that the reports cover.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Choose the Nothing Phone (3a) Lite if you want a distinctive design, a microSD slot, a smaller and lighter body, and a lower launch price in the UK and Australia at matching storage, provided you can accept its lower ingress rating and smaller battery.

Before you buy, check the following:

  • The exact Redmi model (4G or 5G) and its ratings for that model.
  • The storage tier, and whether it matches the other phone’s storage.
  • The live price from a named seller in your country, with the date.
  • Whether the charger is included, since the Nothing charger is sold separately.
  • Local warranty and update terms from the manufacturer.

Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
