For India buyers comparing the Redmi Note 15 5G with Samsung’s Galaxy M47 5G, the main trade-offs are clear: Xiaomi lists a larger 108MP main camera and a 6.77-inch AMOLED display, while Samsung lists a slightly smaller 120Hz Super AMOLED screen, a 6000mAh battery and six generations of OS upgrades plus six years of security updates. A 91mobiles comparison page displayed the Samsung ₹2,000 higher, but those marketplace-linked prices are not guaranteed current or like-for-like.
This comparison uses Xiaomi’s global Redmi Note 15 5G specifications and Samsung India’s listing for the Galaxy M47 5G in 6GB/128GB Rogue Red. They are not country-matched specification pages, and the Redmi 5G model should not be confused with other Redmi Note 15 family or regional variants.

When accessed in 2026, 91mobiles displayed ₹28,999 for the Redmi Note 15 and ₹30,999 for the Galaxy M47 5G, with Amazon India attribution. That page-level snapshot put Samsung ₹2,000 higher. It is not an official MSRP or a guarantee of present price, stock or availability; check the seller’s current listing and compare the same RAM and storage configuration before buying. The Samsung manufacturer page cited here is specifically for 6GB/128GB Rogue Red.

Which phone has the better display?
Xiaomi’s global page specifies a 6.77-inch AMOLED panel at 120Hz, with 1080 × 2392 resolution. Samsung lists a 6.66-inch 120Hz Super AMOLED display at 1080 × 2340. Redmi offers a little more screen area and a higher stated vertical pixel count; both specifications identify a 120Hz AMOLED-family display. Those figures alone do not establish differences in brightness, color accuracy or outdoor legibility.
Which phone has the better camera?
The Redmi specification emphasizes resolution and an ultra-wide camera: its rear setup is a 108MP main camera plus an 8MP ultra-wide, and Xiaomi lists 4K recording at 30fps. Samsung lists three rear cameras at 50MP, 5MP and 2MP, with optical image stabilization (OIS) specified for the rear camera. Its product page also promotes HDR capabilities. The 12MP front-camera figure is reported by 91mobiles; confirm it against the live Samsung listing if it is decisive for your purchase.

Neither the higher megapixel count nor the number of rear lenses proves which phone takes better photos. The cited specifications do not provide comparable independent image tests, so they cannot settle real-world detail, low-light performance, color processing or video stability.
Battery capacity, charging and what comes in the box
Samsung lists a 6000mAh typical battery; Xiaomi lists 5520mAh typical. Capacity is not a battery-life test, and the difference does not translate directly into guaranteed extra hours. Samsung separately claims up to 28 hours of video playback under its test conditions; that manufacturer figure is not an independent, directly comparable result.

Both phones are specified for 45W charging. Samsung says its fast charger is sold separately. Xiaomi says its global box does not include a power adapter and recommends a compatible 45W PD charger or Xiaomi adapter. Its global box list includes a USB-C cable, SIM eject tool and protective case, but Xiaomi warns that contents vary by region. Check the exact local package before buying accessories.
Software support and durability claims
Updates
Samsung states that the Galaxy M47 5G will receive six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates from its first global launch date; it notes that policies may change. Samsung’s India page lists security updates through July 31, 2032. Xiaomi’s cited global specifications page names HyperOS 2 but does not establish a support duration, so the available sources do not support a direct promise-length comparison.

Protection
Xiaomi states IP66 splash and dust resistance, but says certification applies under specific laboratory conditions and does not guarantee protection in normal use; liquid damage beyond test conditions is excluded from warranty. Do not treat it as waterproof. Samsung promotes Gorilla Glass Victus+ and a 2.0m fall-endurance claim; that is Samsung’s claim, not independent testing.

Xiaomi lists 5G bands, Bluetooth 5.1, 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi, and a hybrid SIM tray that uses the second position for either a nano SIM or microSD card. Xiaomi cautions that bands and connectivity vary by region and operator. Confirm local band compatibility and the exact device variant with the seller and carrier. Samsung’s cited India page describes a Snapdragon processor with 2.4GHz and 1.8GHz CPU speeds; its explanatory text identifies Snapdragon 6 Gen 3. It lists LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage, while noting that chipset and system configuration limit LPDDR5X to up to LPDDR5 performance levels.

Which one should you choose?
- Consider the Redmi Note 15 5G if the listed larger display, 108MP main camera, ultra-wide camera, microSD-capable hybrid slot or included global-box case matter most. Verify regional packaging and network support first.
- Consider the Galaxy M47 5G if Samsung’s stated software-support commitment, OIS listing, larger stated typical battery capacity or its India-specific 6GB/128GB configuration better fits your priorities. Its fast charger is sold separately.
- Compare current listings carefully if price decides it: the cited prices are a snapshot, not a stable ₹2,000 gap, and must be matched by seller and configuration.
