Neither phone wins on every count. The Redmi Note 15 5G leads on display technology, rear camera hardware and a published software-update commitment. The OnePlus Nord CE6 Lite 5G leads on stated refresh rate and rated battery capacity. On price, Xiaomi’s India store lists the Redmi Note 15 5G in its 8 GB + 128 GB configuration at ₹28,999, but we could not confirm a live OnePlus price for the same memory configuration, so no price gap can be stated yet. The sections below explain each difference and how to compare the two phones for your own use.

Display: panel type needs checking
Xiaomi describes the Redmi Note 15 5G as having a curved AMOLED panel at 120 Hz. OnePlus states 144 Hz and 1000-nit peak brightness for the Nord CE6 Lite 5G, but 91mobiles describes that phone’s screen as an LCD at 6.72 inches with full HD resolution. The two descriptions conflict on panel type, so confirm the display specification on the sheet for the exact variant you plan to buy. If the Nord CE6 Lite 5G is an LCD, the Redmi has the advantage on contrast and black depth, and the OnePlus keeps its advantage on refresh rate.

Performance: the chips are different, and the spec sheet does not settle it
The Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 and the Dimensity 7400 Apex are both mid-range chips, but the spec sheets alone do not show which feels faster in daily use. This comparison does not include side-by-side benchmark or gaming results. Xiaomi’s product page says the phone “delivers fast performance, smooth gaming, and efficient multitasking backed by 48-month lag-free certification.” That is brand marketing, not an independent test, and OnePlus’s “fast and smooth” claims are the same kind of statement. Treat either as a starting point, and check independent reviews that test the same memory configuration on both phones.

Cameras: hardware differs more than megapixels
The Redmi Note 15 5G pairs a 108 MP main camera with optical image stabilisation and an 8 MP ultra-wide lens. The published rear configuration for the Nord CE6 Lite 5G lists a 50 MP main camera and a 2 MP depth-assist sensor, and no ultra-wide lens appears in the figures we reviewed. OnePlus emphasises 4K video from its main camera. A higher megapixel count does not on its own mean better photos, because sensor size, processing and lens quality all affect the result. The most concrete camera difference is the ultra-wide lens: if you shoot landscapes or group photos often, that is the feature to weigh.
Battery and charging
The Nord CE6 Lite 5G has the larger rated battery at 7,000 mAh, against 5,520 mAh for the Redmi Note 15 5G. Both are listed with 45 W wired charging, so the capacity difference does not mean faster charging. OnePlus’s battery footnotes describe lab-based or modelled measures and state that real-world experience varies. A larger rated capacity should give longer runtime, but the sources do not establish how much longer, so do not expect the runtime to scale in proportion to the capacity figures.

Memory and storage: match the configuration before comparing
Xiaomi India lists the Redmi Note 15 5G with 8 GB + 128 GB, and 91mobiles lists it with 128 GB storage. OnePlus states up to 256 GB of built-in storage and expansion up to 2 TB with microSD. That microSD slot shares the SIM tray, so you cannot use a second SIM and an expansion card at the same time. Check the RAM and storage on both product pages before comparing any price, because a 128 GB model and a 256 GB model are not the same product.

Software support: a different kind of promise
Xiaomi’s product page states four years of OS updates and six years of security patches for the Redmi Note 15 5G. This is the only explicit update commitment among the sources. OnePlus describes OxygenOS 16 and “up to 60 months” of fluency, and its marketing line “5 Years of Fast and Smooth” is a performance claim. It is not a promise of OS or security updates for a set number of years. If long software support matters to you, Xiaomi’s stated commitment is the one you can compare directly, and you should confirm OnePlus’s update policy with the company before you buy.

Durability: certifications are not equivalent
Both phones cite MIL-STD-810H, but the ratings around it differ. Xiaomi claims IP65 and IP66 dust and water resistance for the Redmi Note 15 5G. OnePlus says the Nord CE6 Lite 5G is tested to MIL-STD-810H and rated IP64 for splash and dust resistance. The IP64 rating is lower than the IP65 and IP66 ratings Xiaomi claims. Neither listing should be read as protection against submersion, and a MIL-STD-810H certification does not tell you what specific tests were run. Keep the claims attributed to each manufacturer.
Service claims: what Xiaomi reports
Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 15 5G product page cites a Counterpoint study from 2025. As Xiaomi relays it, 52% of repair issues were resolved within four hours, against a 47% industry average, and 37% were resolved for under ₹1,000, against a 28% industry average. These are figures Xiaomi quotes from the study, not a test of this phone, and we have not audited the original study. Use them as the company’s own summary of its service performance.

Price difference: what is confirmed and what is not
Xiaomi India’s store lists the Redmi Note 15 5G in its 8 GB + 128 GB configuration at ₹28,999 and displays a marketing price of ₹36,999 alongside it. Store prices and discounts change, so the figure is accurate only as of the check date, 7 October 2026. 91mobiles shows ₹28,999 for each phone, and Amazon listings reference both models. However, 91mobiles is a secondary source, and we could not verify the OnePlus RAM and storage configuration or the live price against OnePlus’s official page. Those listings do not establish that the two phones cost the same.
How to compare matched prices
- Choose one memory configuration you would actually buy. For the Redmi Note 15 5G, 8 GB + 128 GB is the configuration with a confirmed price.
- Open the Redmi Note 15 5G on Xiaomi India’s store and note the selling price, the date and any bank, exchange or coupon offers shown.
- Find the Nord CE6 Lite 5G at the same RAM and storage on OnePlus’s India store or an authorised retailer. If the exact configuration is not sold, note the nearest one and the price difference it introduces.
- Compare the final payable amount for each, including delivery, offers and any exchange conditions.
- Repeat the check on the day you buy, because stock and prices change.
Which phone fits which buyer
- Choose the Redmi Note 15 5G if you want an AMOLED screen, an ultra-wide rear camera, optical stabilisation on the main camera, and Xiaomi’s stated four-year OS and six-year security update commitment.
- Choose the OnePlus Nord CE6 Lite 5G if a higher refresh rate and the larger rated battery matter most, or if you want the option of up to 2 TB of expandable storage and can give up a second SIM to use it.
- Decide on price only after the matched check described above. If the price difference is small, the feature priorities above should decide the purchase.
Independent benchmark and battery tests are not part of this comparison. For buying decisions that depend on gaming performance or real battery life, read reviews that test both phones under the same conditions.
