The Xiaomi Redmi 15 stands out for its larger, faster-refreshing LCD and higher listed battery capacity. Samsung’s Galaxy A27 5G offers a Super AMOLED display, a more fully specified rear-camera setup with optical image stabilization, and a stated long-term software-support commitment. There is no reliable single price difference to quote without matching the market, date, storage tier, and discount conditions: Samsung has published launch prices, but the available official sources do not establish a comparable Redmi 15 price.
This comparison covers the Redmi 15 without the “5G” suffix. Xiaomi lists that model with a Snapdragon 685; Redmi 15 5G is a separate product and its specifications should not be substituted here. See Xiaomi’s global Redmi 15 page and Belgium specifications.

What the display and battery figures mean
Display size, panel, and refresh rate
The Redmi 15 has the larger screen and higher maximum refresh-rate figure on paper. Xiaomi qualifies the 144Hz rate as available for supported apps, and the panel is LCD. Samsung lists a smaller Super AMOLED screen with a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz. Neither manufacturer’s cited specifications establish comparative brightness, color accuracy, or viewing performance, so panel type and refresh-rate figures alone do not prove which screen looks better.
Battery capacity and charging
Xiaomi lists a 7,000mAh typical battery for the Redmi 15, compared with Samsung’s 5,000mAh typical figure for the A27 5G. These are capacity claims, not measured runtime results. Actual battery life depends on factors such as usage, signal conditions, settings, and software. The listed charging rates are 33W and 25W respectively; charging speed in practice can also depend on the charger and conditions.

Camera hardware: Samsung lists more detail
Samsung specifies optical image stabilization on the A27 5G’s 50MP main camera and lists separate 5MP ultrawide and 2MP macro cameras. Xiaomi lists a 50MP main camera and an auxiliary lens for the Redmi 15. That makes Samsung’s published rear-camera configuration more detailed, but a parts list cannot establish which phone takes better photos. The available sources do not include independent comparative camera tests.

Samsung says the Galaxy A27 5G receives “up to six generations of Android OS and One UI upgrades” and “up to six years of security updates from the initial global launch date.” Those are Samsung’s stated maximums; the global announcement does not establish a guaranteed end date for every regional variant. Xiaomi identifies HyperOS 2 for the Redmi 15, but the reviewed Xiaomi pages do not establish a directly comparable support-duration commitment for this exact model. That is not evidence that the phone receives no updates; it means a comparable duration cannot be stated from those sources.
Price difference: compare the same market and configuration
Samsung has announced launch prices for the Galaxy A27 5G in the United States and India. Those are not a single global price, and the U.S. launch price should not be treated as a current retailer quote. No comparable official Redmi 15 price was established for either market in the available sources.

To calculate a meaningful current difference, compare both phones in the same country, on the same date, at matching memory and storage tiers, and use the same seller and discount basis. Retail prices and promotions can change; without those like-for-like figures, any numeric gap would be misleading.

Regional details to check before buying
- Confirm the exact Xiaomi model. Redmi 15 and Redmi 15 5G are separate names. Xiaomi’s global Redmi 15 page lists Snapdragon 685, and Xiaomi’s regional specifications say network bands can vary with availability and carrier support.
- Check NFC and carrier compatibility. Xiaomi says NFC availability varies by region. Its global FAQ says NFC is supported in Europe but not Latin America or Asia for the described product. Xiaomi also says network bands vary by region, so confirm the local SKU against your carrier’s bands. See the regional specification page and global FAQ.
- Check what is in the box. Xiaomi’s Belgium specification page says a power adapter is not included and recommends a Xiaomi 33W charger; package contents vary by region. Samsung lists 25W charging in its global specifications, but that does not confirm a charger is included in a specific market’s box.
- Do not treat IP64 as waterproofing. Both manufacturers list IP64, which is not a promise that either phone can be submerged. Xiaomi warns that resistance can decline with daily use and that liquid-submersion damage is not covered by its stated protection language.
Which phone makes more sense?
- Consider the Redmi 15 if a larger display, a higher listed refresh rate, or a larger stated battery capacity matters most to you—and its local price and exact connectivity configuration work for your needs.
- Consider the Galaxy A27 5G if you prefer Super AMOLED, want the listed OIS main camera plus dedicated ultrawide and macro cameras, or place weight on Samsung’s published software-support commitment.
- Compare prices locally if cost is the deciding factor. The announced Samsung prices are market- and configuration-specific, while a like-for-like Redmi 15 price is not established here.
These are specification-based distinctions, not a universal winner: the published figures do not provide independent evidence of real-world speed, battery life, or camera quality.
