The Xiaomi Redmi 15 and Motorola moto g max have similar headline battery capacity, but differ in display, cameras, charging and software details. First, check which Redmi 15 you mean: Xiaomi sells a standard Redmi 15 with Snapdragon 685 and a separate Redmi 15 5G with Snapdragon 6s Gen 3. Motorola’s model is named moto g max; its US support page lists a Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 and warns that specifications may vary by market.
There is no reliable price difference to report without a country, exact storage configuration, retailer and date. The comparison below separates Xiaomi’s two variants so you can match the specifications to the phone actually on sale where you live.
Which Redmi 15 is being compared?
“Redmi 15” and “Redmi 15 5G” are distinct models, not interchangeable names. Xiaomi’s global product pages list Snapdragon 685 for the standard Redmi 15 and Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 for the 5G model. Motorola’s US support page lists a Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 for the moto g max. Processor names alone do not establish which phone performs faster in real use.

- Redmi 15: the standard model in Xiaomi’s global listing; its listed chipset is Snapdragon 685. Xiaomi Redmi 15 specifications.
- Redmi 15 5G: Xiaomi’s separate 5G model; its global page lists Snapdragon 6s Gen 3. Xiaomi Redmi 15 5G specifications.
- moto g max: Motorola’s US support page gives specifications for this model and notes that specifications may vary by market. Motorola moto g max specifications.
“Moto g max 5G” appears in comparison searches, but the cited Motorola page calls the handset “moto g max.” Confirm the exact regional model and its supported network bands with the seller or carrier before buying; do not assume every market’s version has identical connectivity.

Specifications above come from Xiaomi’s global Redmi 15 page, global Redmi 15 5G page, India Redmi 15 5G page and Motorola’s US moto g max support page. The India memory, software and front-camera details apply to that cited regional configuration, not automatically to Redmi 15 5G units sold elsewhere.
How the displays, batteries and charging differ
Both Redmi variants are listed with a 6.9-inch FHD+ display capable of up to 144Hz. The moto g max has a slightly smaller 6.72-inch FHD+ LCD with a 120Hz refresh rate. A higher maximum refresh rate can make supported content look smoother, but it does not by itself determine overall display quality or battery life.
All three models in the cited specifications list a 7,000mAh battery. Xiaomi lists 33W wired charging and 18W reverse charging for both Redmi models; Motorola lists 30W TurboPower for the moto g max. These are manufacturer-listed specifications, not a controlled comparison of charging time or endurance.

Advertised battery-life figures use different vendor methods and are not directly comparable. Xiaomi’s Redmi 15 page gives estimates of up to 46 hours of calls, 29 hours of reading and 14 hours of video playback; Xiaomi says its usage figures are based on an internal lab model. Its Redmi 15 5G page lists up to 25 hours of video, 108 hours of music and 30 hours of reading, with the qualification: “Data obtained from Xiaomi Internal Labs. Actual results may vary.” Motorola states up to 63 hours of battery life for the moto g max, but the cited support page does not describe the method behind that figure. These figures should not be treated as a head-to-head test.
What the camera specifications tell you
Xiaomi lists a 50MP AI dual-camera system on both Redmi models. Motorola specifies a 50MP main camera plus an 8MP ultra-wide camera with a 119.5° field of view. That gives the moto g max a listed ultra-wide option; megapixel counts alone do not show how well any camera performs in different lighting or shooting conditions.
For selfies, Motorola lists a 32MP front camera. Xiaomi’s global Redmi 15 material cited here does not state the front-camera resolution, while the India Redmi 15 5G page lists 8MP. Compare the exact regional SKU if the front camera matters to you.

Software support and durability
The cited Xiaomi India listing specifies Android 15 with HyperOS 2 for its Redmi 15 5G configuration and promises two OS upgrades and four years of security updates. Motorola’s US moto g max support page lists Android 16, two OS upgrades and three years of security patches. These are regional product-page statements; check the support terms that apply to the exact phone and market before relying on them.
Xiaomi lists IP64 dust and water resistance for both Redmi models. Motorola lists an IP64 water-resistant design and MIL-STD-810H for the moto g max. Ratings and durability claims do not mean a phone is waterproof or immune to damage; follow each manufacturer’s care guidance.
Is there a price difference?
A defensible price comparison needs the same country, date, seller and a like-for-like configuration. The cited official pages do not establish matched prices for these phones, so they cannot support a current price gap or a claim that one is cheaper. Prices and available memory configurations can differ by market and retailer.

For a fair local comparison, record the following for each listing:
- Exact model name, including whether the Xiaomi is Redmi 15 or Redmi 15 5G.
- Country and regional SKU, including supported network bands for your carrier.
- RAM and storage configuration.
- Retailer, listed price, currency and date checked.
- Whether the price is a temporary offer and whether taxes or delivery are included.
Compare listings only after those details match as closely as possible. A price for an India Redmi 15 5G configuration, for example, is not a like-for-like benchmark for a different storage variant or a phone sold in another country.
Which phone should you choose?
Choose a Redmi 15 if its local price and exact variant suit you
The standard Redmi 15 is the relevant comparison if the listing says Redmi 15 without the 5G suffix; Xiaomi’s global page specifies Snapdragon 685. Do not assume it has the same chipset or network capabilities as Redmi 15 5G.

Choose Redmi 15 5G if you want that specific Xiaomi 5G model
The 5G variant is a separate model with Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 on Xiaomi’s global page. Its cited India configuration includes 6GB + 128GB or 8GB + 256GB, Android 15 with HyperOS 2, and an 8MP front camera. Verify your market’s exact specification and band support rather than applying India details worldwide.
Consider the moto g max for its listed camera configuration
The moto g max specification lists an 8MP ultra-wide rear camera and 32MP front camera, alongside a 6.72-inch 120Hz display and 30W charging. Those are specification differences, not proof of better image quality or overall performance.
Before choosing any of the three, prioritize the exact regional model, network compatibility and like-for-like local price alongside the headline specifications. The cited pages do not provide a controlled performance or camera test to settle those questions.
