The Redmi 15 5G stands out on paper for its larger, higher-refresh display and higher stated battery capacity. Samsung’s Galaxy M47 5G pairs a Super AMOLED screen with optical image stabilization on its main rear camera and a longer stated software-support commitment. A current price difference cannot be verified from the official listings reviewed, so the better choice depends on the features you value and the prices for your exact local variants.

These are manufacturer-published specifications, not independent comparative test results. Xiaomi’s Global and India information is available on its Redmi 15 5G product page and India specifications page. Samsung’s India details are on the 6GB/128GB listing, 8GB/128GB listing and buy page.
Which display suits you better?
The Redmi has the larger stated diagonal and the higher listed refresh-rate ceiling: 6.9 inches and up to 144Hz, compared with Samsung’s approximately 6.66-inch display and up to 120Hz. A higher refresh rate can make supported scrolling and animation look smoother, but the figures alone do not establish display quality or how often a phone uses its maximum rate.
Samsung explicitly specifies Super AMOLED. If display technology is a priority, that is a concrete distinction in the listed specifications; the comparison does not include independent measurements of brightness, color accuracy or outdoor visibility.

Battery capacity and charging
Xiaomi lists a 7000mAh typical battery, while Samsung lists 6000mAh typical and 5882mAh rated minimum. The higher stated capacity gives the Redmi the edge in capacity on paper, but it does not prove longer real-world battery life: usage, software, display settings and network conditions matter. Xiaomi also reports up to 25 hours of video playback in its Global-page internal-lab claim; that is a Xiaomi test claim, not an independent comparison, and actual results may vary.
Samsung advertises higher wired charging wattage at 45W versus Xiaomi’s 33W, while Xiaomi also lists 18W reverse charging. Charging wattage by itself does not establish charging time, which can depend on the adapter, cable, charging protocol and temperature.
Check the box contents for your region before buying an adapter. Xiaomi Global says no power adapter is included, while Xiaomi India’s package listing includes one. Samsung says its 45W fast charger is sold separately.

Camera hardware: Samsung lists OIS
Samsung lists a 50MP main rear camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), alongside 5MP and 2MP cameras. Xiaomi lists a 50MP AI dual-camera system. OIS is a meaningful hardware feature to note, but megapixel counts and component lists do not establish which phone takes better photos or video; that requires comparable camera testing. Xiaomi’s cited Global-page summary does not establish a front-camera specification, so a direct front-camera comparison is not supported here.
Software support and durability
Samsung India states six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates, counted from the first global launch date, and notes that the policy may change. Xiaomi India lists HyperOS 2 with Android 15 and two years of OS updates plus four years of security updates. Samsung’s stated commitment is longer on its face; check the policy and its start date for the market and variant you are considering.
Xiaomi lists IP64 dust and water resistance, subject to its laboratory-condition caveats. Samsung advertises Gorilla Glass Victus+ and water/dust resistance, but the exact protection rating was not established in the reviewed listing extract. Do not treat the two descriptions as equivalent ingress ratings without confirming Samsung’s full official specification for your exact model.

Performance and regional buying checks
Xiaomi names the Redmi’s Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 5G processor. Samsung’s reviewed India listing gives octa-core CPU speeds of 2.4GHz and 1.8GHz but does not name the chipset, so clock speeds are not enough to identify it reliably or predict a performance winner. No comparative performance tests are established here.

No reliable current price difference can be stated from the official pages reviewed. Xiaomi’s cited specifications page did not establish a live retail price, and Samsung’s India buy page showed the selected 6GB/128GB variant as “Not for sale” without a usable price. That is not evidence that the phones cost the same—or that one is cheaper.

For a fair comparison, check prices in the same market on the same date and match storage and memory configurations. Also compare the final cost after any required charger purchase; the availability and price of either phone can change by region and retailer.
Which phone should you choose?
- Consider the Redmi 15 5G if a larger listed display, a higher refresh-rate ceiling, higher stated battery capacity or reverse charging matters most to you.
- Consider the Galaxy M47 5G if you prefer a Super AMOLED display, want the listed OIS-equipped main rear camera, or place more weight on Samsung’s stated update commitment.
- Wait to judge value until you can compare in-stock local variants with matching memory and storage at current prices. The available listings do not support a dependable price winner.
These are feature-based choices, not claims that one phone is faster, lasts longer on a charge or takes better pictures. Those outcomes require direct, comparable testing.
