For gaming on a Xiaomi phone in India, the two newest 5G models with clear listed prices are the Redmi 17 5G at ₹23,999 and the Redmi Note 17 5G at ₹27,999. Both were shown at those prices on 7 October 2026, and both listings specify 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage. Treat these as a dated snapshot. Retailer prices and offers change often, so confirm the amount on the store page before you buy.
Listed prices and specifications
The table below uses the October 2026 price list published by 91mobiles and the price list on Smartprix, which was updated on 7 October 2026. Specifications are as stated in those listings. They are not independent lab measurements.
| Model | Listed price in India (7 Oct 2026) | Chipset | RAM / storage | Battery and charging | Display |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Xiaomi Redmi 17 5G | ₹23,999 | Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 | 6 GB / 128 GB | 7,900 mAh, 45W Turbo Charging | 6.9-inch LCD |
| Xiaomi Redmi Note 17 5G | ₹27,999 | Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 | 6 GB / 128 GB | 8,000 mAh, 45W charging | 6.99-inch OLED |
| Xiaomi Redmi Note 15 SE 5G | ₹24,999 | Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 | 6 GB / 128 GB | 5,800 mAh, 45W Turbo Charging | 6.77-inch AMOLED |
| Xiaomi Redmi 15 | ₹21,499 | Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 | 6 GB / 128 GB | 7,000 mAh, 33W charging | 6.9-inch IPS LCD |
| Xiaomi Redmi 12 (6 GB RAM variant) | ₹9,995 | MediaTek Helio G88 | 6 GB / 128 GB | 5,000 mAh, 18W charging | 6.79-inch IPS LCD |
The 91mobiles category page that carries these models includes 73 phones in total. The five above are therefore a selection from a broad catalogue, not a list of phones chosen for gaming ability. Xiaomi India’s official catalogue also lists the REDMI 17 5G and REDMI Note 17 5G among its phones. That confirms the models are current products. It does not confirm stock or the price you will pay.
Redmi 17 5G or Redmi Note 17 5G?
The Note 17 5G costs ₹4,000 more on the listed prices. For that money, its listing gives an OLED panel rather than an LCD and a slightly larger battery. The two phones share 6 GB RAM, 128 GB storage and 45W charging, so the decision rests mainly on the display and the ₹4,000 gap.

Do not treat the chip names as a performance ranking. A higher generation number does not show how a chip holds frame rates over a long session, and the sources behind this article do not publish a model-by-model sustained test for either phone. Any claim that one of these two is faster in a given game would go beyond the evidence.

That is a description of the publication’s method. It is not a set of published results for each Xiaomi model. The material behind this article does not contain per-model benchmark, heat or frame-rate tables for the phones listed above, so this article cannot say which one stays cooler after an hour of play or drops fewer frames in a demanding title. If you need those answers, look for a review that reports them for the exact model and storage variant you plan to buy.

The Redmi 12 at ₹9,995 is the lowest listed price here and the only model under ₹10,000. Its MediaTek Helio G88, 5,000 mAh battery, 18W charging and 6.79-inch IPS LCD are the most modest specifications in the table, so it suits light gaming and casual titles rather than heavy, long sessions. The Redmi 15 at ₹21,499 sits between the budget entry and the Redmi 17 5G, with a 7,000 mAh battery and 33W charging. The Redmi Note 15 SE 5G at ₹24,999 is the only model in the table with an AMOLED panel that is smaller in battery capacity than the Redmi 15, so the display and battery trade off against each other.

Checks before you buy
- Open the product page on the store and confirm it reads 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage, the same variant as the price you are comparing.
- Check the price on the product page at checkout, not on a roundup or category list. Listed prices in roundups can lag behind offers and stock.
- Compare the same variant across Amazon India and Flipkart, the two retailer destinations shown on the listing pages. Compare delivery and return terms along with the price.
- Confirm the product name matches the model in Xiaomi India’s official catalogue, so you are buying the India model.
Which to choose
If your budget is about ₹24,000, the Redmi 17 5G is the lower-priced of the two current 5G models, with a larger battery than the Note 15 SE 5G and a lower price than either Note model. If the OLED panel is worth ₹4,000 more to you, the Redmi Note 17 5G is the other option. If your budget is under ₹10,000, the Redmi 12 is the only listed choice in this price range.
